Falconry day! Falconry day!

Nov 02, 2011 20:20

[today on one of the more open areas there's a helpful set of pamphlets, clearly made for kids about the ~wonders of falconry~ perches for the birds, species info and all sorts of fun facts!

...now only if the birds themselves didn't look so annoyed.]

It could be either scenario at this point.

Is falconry a feature in your world?

I'm surprised camp doesn't give signs to make the distinctions and potentially humiliate people more... although I guess I shouldn't mention that to give it ideas.

I'm not sure. It sounds like something the nobility would practice but I try not to mingle with them unless I have to.

The guessing games and speculation must be part of the fun.

I guess even the poor non-nobles have to eat. Provided they could actually get a bird to hunt with.

I don't know, switching around could be fun too. Keeps us in suspense.

Oh, we have our mabaris for that. At least, that's how we used to do it in Lothering.

Yeah--maybe they broke the other rules involving the Electric Slide and Applebee's for a change.

What's a mabaris?

You know, I've actually never heard of either of those before. What are they exactly?

A mabari is a breed of war dogs. They're a popular pet in the country I originally came from.

A dance move and a chain of restaurants. Not half as scandalous, I'm afraid.

So war dogs can be used for hunting too?

And here I thought it was some sort of dastardly trap and a secret weapon. My poor heart.

Hunt, fight, track thieves, rescue you from an ambush... all the makings of man's best friend, really.

Honestly, the food there could be considered to be a dastardly trap.

Sounds very handy to have around with you.
