[There is a teenage girl shackled theatrically to a big cheap fold-out table near the mess hall, accompanied by a selection of giant sno-balls for your delectation. She's drumming her nails against the speckled surface and looking an awful lot like she wouldn't mind shredding the big white fold-out sign in front of her, with red sparkly letters

[siiiiinks her head down onto her arms, between her shoulders] Yeah. So I'm learning. [her voice is a little muffled by sleeves and embarrassment]

[she thumps the surface of the table with the flat of her palm] This thing goes away?

Eventually.

So I just have to sit here and endure spectators for how long?

[headthump onto arms in appropriately dramatic teenage manner] Ugh.

[tilts his head to the side again, looking mildly amused.]

Would you like a consultation? A sno-ball? [nudges plate helpfully at him]

I am almost 100% sure neither will kill you?

I have no need for any sort of consultation, and as for the "delicacy" . . . [eyes it for a brief moment] I'd rather not.
