[fiddling a bit with the string attached to the wrist of his monsterarm]

Well, following this certainly can't lead to anything horrible.

[starts walking in the direction of the other end]

[Meanwhile, Ivan had taken notice of the string attached to his right pinky finger. It didn't look like anything but a normal thread, but he couldn't remove it no matter how much he tried. Noticing that it seemed to be leading somewhere, there wasn't much choice but to follow it until-]

Ah!... You, too?

[He holds up his pinky with the string attached]

Me too.

Any idea why?

[He shakes his head]

I'm sorry. It was suddenly there when I happened to glance down, but I didn't notice anything strange beforehand.

Yeah, same here. Knowing this place it probably won't be anything good, though.

[except the string starts to vanish]

...unless this was a really confusing "meet someone new" event. I'm Victor.

[oh, so it does!]

It seems like that could be the case here... I'm Ivan. It's nice to meet you.

There are definitely easier ways to go about it, but at least I wasn't attached to some kind of monster.

[the look on his face suggests he is aware of the irony]

Ahh- yes! That could have been a possibility. Although I certainly wasn't expecting to see a person at the other end.

Neither was I. I'm probably cynical, but I think it's generally easier to just assume that everything this place does has the end result of killing or humiliating you. That way, you're never unpleasantly surprised.

K-Killing? Have you had experiences like that?

Yeah, a few. Usually it's more humiliation though. Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you.

Ah, no! It's not that I'm scared... I simply wasn't aware that things like that were occurring as well.

This can be a dangerous place sometimes. How long have you been here?

copyrightabuser November 6 2011, 20:06:12 UTC
Hmm... I suppose it's been about three months. How about you?

Reply

skinofalizard November 6 2011, 20:31:53 UTC
Technically it's been three months for me, too, but I've been here before so it's about nine, total.

Eh? You mean you were able to return home, but then you were sent back?
