[ You might notice more and more people getting oddly touchy with each other, along with their strange red welts and cuts on their wrists, fingers, necks, arms... they might scratch them occasionally. Except when in the presence of a special person, of course.

Today, however, Marcy is... knitting? So many red tentacle-warmers. Aww. ]

It seems that we have another camp "situation" on our hands. It's not always like this, though.

Yeah, I've been hearing a bit about that. How often does this kind of thing happen?

*as light and friendly as his manner is, there is perhaps something a bit... intense underneath the way that he's watching Josh*

Every month or so, it seems. Some are quieter than others, some more busy. I've only been here for about four months, myself.

So you're new, but you've already met Victor, I see.

[ well that feels safe. good thing Josh is kind of used to that, so while his instincts are telling him to be a bit on alert at that extra attention and is now splitting his focus between Victor and you evenly, he's otherwise acting as polite and genial as always ]

Well, one good thing about back home is that you kind of get used to that level of activity for this sort of weirdness. Or as much as you can, I guess.

Victor and I are... well, were classmates and teammates, so we go back a ways.

"Were"? Is this some timeline issue?

Kind... of? Vic and a couple of our other friends are from a bit ahead of me in terms of the timeline. Mostly I just meant that the school we used to go to is now closed and I'm on a different team than him now.

[ there's some hesitation to be found around the word "team", in reference to the fact that X-Force isn't exactly what you would call a team but more of a secret espionage/assassination squad. tons of EXTREMELY unhappy and deeply conflicted emotions cloud his thoughts on it, but there's a very strong sense of secrecy that surrounds the memories proper. enough to make them quieter in his head, resting somewhere deep below the surface of his thoughts ]

Not that bad, then. Some things get really twisted up here. In fact, some of the others in that group, they're from entirely different realities, it seems.

Yeah, I've met a couple. It's been pretty-

... interesting.

So you're familiar with some of the others then?

I suppose that I'm one of them.

*extends a hand to him*

Professor Charles Xavier. It's a pleasure to meet you.

... uh, Josh! Josh Foley. Nice to meet you too. Again.

I hope that I made a good impression the last time. Otherwise, I shall have to have words with myself.

[ is probably trying very hard not to think about how complicated the answer is to that question, because well, you're the Professor! but for many various reasons the you he knows hasn't really been around a lot, and certain choices have been made, but despite that he probably shouldn't let all that affect his opinion of the you in the here and now. Also you have hair. It's very nice hair... which is kind-of weird ]

Well... unless you come from a very, very weird alternate timeline where you teach the tenets of world conquest and dominion over all of humanity, I don't think there's too much you could say or do that would change my opinion to your detriment I guess.

*chuckles*

You can relax, I'm not expecting an actual answer in fifty words or less. Nevertheless, it's good to hear, and I can assure you that none of that is on any of my projected lesson plans.
