[It's a bit of a chilly night in Camp. Luckily, a homey fireplace seems to have sprung up in the Mess Hall, along with hot cider and the faint sound of jazz music.

In a far corner, a man is carving a flute. How are you spending your fall evening?]

(( mingle!! ))

Genis! Well met, valiant comrade.

You too. Something up with your armor?

The wear of time and hard use, my friend--nothing more. Matters have seemed peaceful enough within the encampment that I thought it a fine opportunity to see to mine armor's repair.

Oh yeah, that's always a good idea. Do you always repair it yourself?

Aye, near enough--save only the more grievous damage best left to the care of the royal armorers. I am no stranger to metalcrafting, but I possess no master's skill.

Hopefully you don't get any major damage done to it, then.

One ne'er knows... We have yet to be beset by giants, despite all my years here.

Does the giant dinosaur count?

say_thee_nay November 14 2011, 00:56:01 UTC
... I suppose it might, at that.

But nay, I meant rather that a blow from a giant's club will merely dent this armor, and that consequently far more is required to severely damage it.

Ooh, gotcha. And there aren't really any blacksmiths here, right? Except Lloyd.

say_thee_nay November 14 2011, 01:02:42 UTC
Aye, none save Lloyd... And I would sooner tend to mine own gear than entrust it to him.

Lloyd's actually pretty good with his hands; his dad was a good teacher. But since your armor's all special, I guess it might not be a good idea.

It hath sentimental value, at any rate... Though, true enough, Asgardian steel is not like other alloys.

So I guess we just have to hope for no super giant fights, or for a blacksmith from your world to come here.

Nay, I should not wish for that fate to befall any from Asgard.

... although, speaking of which... Hast thou perchance encountered a lad, seemingly of thine age, who calls himself Loki?
