*pulls up also--why is air space so crowded?*

You're speeding!

There's no limit for going fast in the sky!

[-- wait, the fuck are you riding]

What is that?

There should be when there are other people in the air!

It's only a broomstick . . .

But those can't fly. Is there a really small, powerful Claudia engine in there? That must be it!

. . . The dwarfs back at home made it. I don't know how it works.

What's that you're riding?

That's probably it, then! I wonder how one so small can do that. Hey, can you take it apart? You must be able to to work on it and refill it.

This is my vanship!

It was only repaired a few months ago--I don't want to poke at it and have it fall apart. There are no dwarf artificers to fix it here . . .

What's a vanship? *has a closer look*

Eeeh? You don't even know how to repair your own unit? That's one of the most important things!

This is one, of course~! Lots of people have them.

I inherited it from another witch and the dwarfs keep their secrets close to their chests.

. . . You might be the only one here with them?

You should really ask them about it. What's the point of having a unit if you can't even take care of it right?

It would be weird if I was...

Trying to pry secrets out of a dwarf is sort of like squeezing water from stone. And you have to let craftsmen have their secrets.

I haven't seem many people with anything like that. Some people can fly because they have the ability . . .

But how do they expect you to do things for yourself? They shouldn't have even bothered giving them away if they weren't going to at least tell you how to use them right and keep them working!

This looks like a pretty backwards place.

I think they meant for us to pay through the nose for it. But most witches don't have much money.

It's a farm in America--hence the rural landscape.

I wouldn't pay for something if it didn't come with enough information on how to take care of it.

What's America?

I have no idea how Miss Treason got this broom . . .

It's a country. *takes out the pocket atlas she borrowed from the library* We're somewhere in the middle.

Treason? That's a funny name.

Ahh, is that what the name of that land is?
