Is this teaching you something you don't already know?

[ smiles, glancing up from the book ]

There's plenty out there for me to still learn about a number of different subjects actually. And I haven't really had much of a chance to learn about the physiological differences in zombified beings, beyond the theoretical, let alone about what sort of viral infections they're capable of contracting and spreading.

There is none.

How do you mean?

There are no viruses to contract or spread. The zombies are effectively useless.

Admittedly, the zombies here appear to be quite different from what's usually been portrayed in popular fiction, nor have they displayed the any signs of being able to spread the condition to others, which might be a sign that they really are little more than the reanimated dead rather than a group afflicted with a particular virus or disease which causes "zombie-like" symptoms.

But that doesn't mean there aren't still health risks associated with dead bodies.

Oh, there are risks. But the zombies themselves do not carry the trademark "virus" that has been associated with popular fiction.

Good to know! It would explain why people here down run away in terror at the sight of them.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the book is just satire. Or the author just has some frankly unrealistic ideas on how long viruses are actually capable of living in a dead host.

There's very little you can trust from books. But there's much you can learn from them.

There are enough conflicting facts, methodologies and standpoints from a variety of different authors to contradict you on that.

Do you read often?

goddamnemperor December 14 2011, 03:21:41 UTC
... No. There's nothing for me to read.

drfeelgold December 14 2011, 03:24:12 UTC
Really? Have you just read them all or...?

[he's quiet]

I've read enough.

On all subjects, or just one in particular?

On everything.

Everything? Even pulp noir detective novels, or romance novels, or poetry?
