[There is no sunrise today. The only light comes from Camp's buildings, and it seems flashlights are still banned.

On the doors to the Mess Hall and the library are other notes:

It hoards.]

[Camp is in permanent night-time mode! Characters who usually can't go out during daylight hours can now venture forth AT ALL TIMES, WOWWWW. Those who ( Read more... )

[There is a set of eyes shining with green light, and they are coming in your direction. From their distance off the ground, whatever they belong to must be as large as a person.]

[What do you do?]

(ooc: open to jumping by anyone!)

*freeze in the middle of trekking towards the Mess Hall*

[Yep, those are eyes all right, and they're getting closer. Whatever it is, it's moving quietly, just the faintest crunching of snow revealing its measured tread.]

[No cover available . . . you also move like a hunter or someone used to sneaking around.]

*well--here goes nothing and hopefully it's not a vampire*

Who goes there?

[As he gets close enough to be seen despite the dim light, it's clear that the owner of the eyes is merely a man - albeit an armed and armoured man with long, sharply pointed ears, bare feet that are nearly soundless in the snow, and eyes that reflect the available light like an animal's eyes. That might add up to a bit unusual still.]

I might ask the same of you.

[Armour and arms are familiar--ears and eyes not so much . . .]

Only someone trying to get to the Mess Hall.

Hm. As am I. Perhaps we should head in that direction together, then - this accursed darkness could hide many hazards. You hold yourself like a man familiar with a blade.

[This is still more normal than giant metal robots . . .]

I have some experience. Though I've mostly been hunting with the bow around here.

An archer? I know a few good ones, back home.

[He looks away, towards the mess hall, directing that unhuman glow away.]

I am called Fenris. Have you seen a woman this morning, my height, with black hair and a large staff? She would be human, like yourself.

No--I'd notice a woman that tall even here. I am Guy of Gisborne.

She is quite striking. A pity, but thank you all the same. Perhaps I will find her in the Mess Hall.

[He falls silent; clearly, this is not a man who excels at small talk.]

[Hooray, company I could get used to.]

Perhaps.

*just going to walk then while keeping an ear out for any odd stuff*

[Silence is golden. Fenris maintains it for a few minutes, until, after sneaking a glance at Guy, he sighs very faintly.]

Do you wish for some light?

. . . You mean like that? *half aborted gesture at your eyes*

Hmph. No, as I can hardly make a human into an elf. I meant light by which to see.

[Elf--there's a new one for the books.]

I mean with magic?
