Oh, goodness, yes--there are at least three dialects. I was born in a metropolitan area, and was taught High VUX from a young age. Perhaps that is why the Camp translator takes it upon itself to make me sound a bit less modern.

And that might also be why I don't understand most of the modern slang terms. I think a lot of them don't exist back at home.

Or maybe some words have different meanings here. It is interesting like you said--I've filled up a whole notebook with terms already.

I like words and I used to read the dictionary all the way through and until someone said that wasn't the way to use it.
