Character: Beatrice
Series:
Umineko no Naku Koro niCharacter Age: Claims to be 1,000. Appears to be 19.
Canon: Welcome to the island of Rokkenjima. You’re at a family meeting on an island, a storm hits, and said family is suddenly brutally murdered by the the fabled witch, Beatrice the Golden. Sounds like an ideal vacation, doesn’t it? After Battler, the protagonist, is killed and revived, he challenges Beatrice herself to a game of Mystery vs. Fantasy. While Battler will oppose Beatrice by denying her magic, Beatrice will attempt to prove that she is, in actuality, a witch. Is the culprit a witch, or a human?
Upon first glance, Beatrice comes off as intimidating, elegant, and incredibly clever. At the same time, she’s arrogant, childish, a sadist, and a bully. However, she’s naive in a strange way. With the power to revive both living and inanimate objects as many times as she pleases, she abuses this magic and appears to see nothing wrong with killing others for amusement’s sake. Despite her ruthless appearance, there’s more to her than meets the eye, and unfortunately, that side of her isn’t often seen by just anyone she meets. She enjoys tea parties, sweets, and hates boredom more than anything else. With her fondness for riddles, she tends to speak in a confusing and peculiar manner: speaking in chess and food analogies, stretching some of her words, and sometimes repeating herself.
Note: Beatrice is being apped from the beginning of Episode 3.
SAMPLE: Hoh. Perhaps I should at least praise Elizabeth Sayre for including these charming creatures in this game of hers. Moogles, was it? Although the magic that seems to be potent here is still almost nothing in comparison to my own, I am fond of these native beings. Truly interesting, truly interesting, indeed; even after living for over 1,000 years, I have rarely had the chance to meet animals that are so unique and talented. This is what a witch seeks--to have another to play around with similar magic. Spending time with those Moogles will be enough to kill boredom for perhaps another few hundred years! The ability to alter one’s fate for even a short period of time and bring them to life once more is a skill that humans and demons alike could only wish to have.
But, if I am to do that, it would be wise to speak to the person that is in charge of this place. That’s right, that’s right--when I meet her, I want to have tea with Elizabeth. A host should not refuse a guest that much, right? It is an honor to be in my very presence. After all, it is not every day that one is given the chance to meet and speak with the Golden and Endless Witch, Alchemist of the Ushiromiya family. And so, when the time comes to have tea with her, I want to show her my own endless magic that she has become so fond of!
Make no mistake, I have not forgotten that I am not the one in control of this world. But, I shall also not allow myself, Beatrice the Golden, to be summoned away from a game that is still in progress so easily! Hmph. She certainly is a rude one, interrupting another’s game as she has. Even a servant knows better manners than thiiiis!
... Though, it is fine. That will only make meeting her more satisfying. I want to see the look on her face if she herself is to experience the magic of being turned into nothing more than a lump of meat, and revived over and over again! If one is to play a game of chess, the pieces should be placed accordingly before capturing the Queen, correct? Ufufufufufufufu!
Poll Vote! Character: Rarity
Series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Character Age: Pony
Canon: So, ponies! They make the sun rise, the rain fall, they take concepts such as friendship and convert them to magic. Ponies may be the greatest scientists ever known, but that’s not the point. In the wonderful world of My Little Pony, ponies coexist happily and peacefully in their world, but not without troubles of the week, monsters, and caring and sharing with your best friends. Not everything goes smoothly and not everything is ‘just perfect’ as the sugar coated signs would tell you, but dang it, they try and they get close, using the power of friendship.
Rarity is among the mane characters, a unicorn (magic user) who lives and loves the art of sewing. Obsessed with being more prolific (as if saving the world twice doesn’t make you famous) and being the ‘star’, Rarity is somewhat of a diva, running her own dress shop. While she does give off more of a dramatic vibe than her other friends, Rarity knows and understands the meaning of generosity more than any other pony-- she loves to make her friends happy, to the point of stress and the occasional bouts of taking her own dramatics too seriously. Regardless, a pony in need is a friend indeed and don’t worry, sweetheart, we’ll have you looking lovely in no time.
Sample Post: That’s it... there we go...!
Marvelous! Oh, Marcy, darling, those wrinkles must have really been getting to you! I mean, you certainly have all sorts of people coming in pointing at you in awe, and believe me, I can understand the feeling-- though for different reasons, to be perfectly honest-- and not a single thing to wear! You’ve got such lovely... skin! And the way it gleams in the autumn sunlight-- ooh! Your colors... well, I think this fall you’d look simply ravishing in some complimentary golds and warm colors. You do live atop of a silo! And we’re looking for harmony!
Could you be a dear and give me your measurements? My tape measure won’t quite stretch all the way. What else-- oh, do you like gems? I think something sparkling to go with your shiny look would just dazzle the newcomers into not... well... baiting you to pick them up and flail them around, like that poor fellow. Instead they’ll say ‘Oh, what a lovely dress! It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’ll be on my way’, instead of that person’s rude lack of common courtesy! Shh, shh, I know. Beauty is only skin deep and inner beauty is just as important, and you’ve got a lot of... inner deep. So let’s make that inner beauty shine with a little outer beauty!
Do you like it? I call them tentafrills. Elegant little cuffs to go on each and every one, made with fine lace. They’ll do until I can find fabric big enough to make your dress! And after I make the pattern, and, oh, the measurements darling, I can’t start without the measurements! Do you think the shuffling gentlemen over there are helpful? The purple gorillas don’t-- well, their shade of purple is just a little too obtrusive, I’m not sure they have the eye for it. Oh no, is that rude? Maybe I can help them a little later...
In any case, you’re up first. Don’t worry, darling, we’ll have you looking so phenomenal, they’ll just die! Try not to take it too literally, there already seem to be a few already doing that just fine.
Poll Vote! Character: Kiyama Ryuichirou
Series:Tumbling
Character Age: 17
Canon: Tumbling is about manly men engaging in the exciting sport called rhythmic gymnastics. This entails hugging each other and crying through every episode because of how emotional it becomes for their masculine hearts. The captain, Takenaka Yuuta, has always dreamed of doing a group performance, but there were never enough members, until some delinquent joins because he has to join a club or fail school. Still, the delinquent, Azuma Wataru, comes to love it and thus the rhythmic gymnastic team is able to compete!
Kiyama is one of the delinquents that join with Wataru. Wataru’s influence and being a part of the rhythmic gymnastics club changes him for the better, causing him to step out from behind the shell he’s wrapped around himself and allowing him to provide a balance to the team with his support. He becomes a person who wants to help others and does his best to do so by stepping up to give advice or encourage his team mates. He is also a quick thinker and is able to think of the bigger picture rather than being sequestered into thinking small. When he talks, he has a rough and brusque way of doing so that makes him seem kind of scary, but he has his heart in the right place.
Sample Post: Oi. Name's Kiyama Ryuichirou; my school sent me here to get 'straightened out.' Yeah, I know, I saw the sign. Camp For Unruly Delinquents. I can't say it's a great name, but forget about it. There are more important things to deal with right now. You, yeah you, stop falling apart and listen to me. What I really care about is how you messed up that fight with your rival gang. Do you honestly think that kind of uncoordinated attack will work? That's the mistake most people make; they just rush right in and go all out. Sometimes it works, yeah, but sometimes it doesn't because sometimes you need brains to go with your fist.
You want some pointers on how to take over camp and become its king? Listen up, that's your first problem right there. You aren't thinking of the bigger picture. Small fish always fry when they get tossed into a pan like that. You've got to think on the scale of what you want. Start small and then work big. I'd say I thought you all would know better from experience or something, but then again most you seem to be missing brains to go with your open skulls.
Which brings up an interesting point. Am I seriously stuck in a camp filled with zombie delinquents? Because if I am, then I want a cabin with locks on the door. There's no way in hell I'm getting jumped in my sleep because a bunch of zombies decided to come into my cabin and try to eat my brains. Are we clear? Good. Now I've got to know something. Tell me there's something to do in camp besides rot and run away from zombies.
Falling apart even more isn’t an answer. Shit, I can’t rely on any of you guys, can I? Not that any of you look reliable anyway. Whatever. I’ll figure things out somehow. I’m used to doing that anyway. You can just go ahead and rot at your own pace because you’re definitely not going to become king of anything with the way you’re acting. When you want to take my advice and do something with yourselves, come find me. See ya.
Poll Vote! Character: Lightning
Series:
Final Fantasy XIIICharacter Age: 21
Canon: Two worlds live in disharmony: Cocoon and the now abandoned Gran Pulse. After unfortunate circumstances, Cocoon is the only one that thrives, and Pulse only exists in people’s memories as a place to fear. Behind both worlds are god-like entities called fal’Cie, who provide the necessities for society to continue where it still exists. Sometimes, these fal’Cie randomly choose humans to work for them and give them goals called Focuses. These individuals are now called l’Cie and considered inhuman, and they must complete their Focuses-or get turned into monsters. Most recently, a group has been chosen by Pulse’s fal’Cie with a Focus to take out Cocoon in its entirety. Perhaps for that reason it’s not so surprising that they decide to strike out on their own path instead of taking down their homes and the people they love within it.
While Lightning wouldn’t call herself the head of this group, it’s most certainly her drive and determination that eventually leads them all to defying their fates and doing the impossible. Even though the others cooperate with her, Lightning doesn’t give off the warmest reception. Rough around the edges and not quick to show her heart, she initially masked all her emotions except for anger. She was angry because her sister got taken and turned into a l’Cie first, and angry because she wasn’t able to save her. Time and a renewed sense of herself in the situation change her. Not only does she open up to others, but she pushes them to realize there’s no point in giving up. Her language is just as blunt as ever, but her mannerisms soften. Most of all, her determination becomes less irrational and more pointed-she comes to realize what it is she has to do and nothing will stop her.
Sample Post:
It really does seem like the place where everyone goes to die. What makes that happen? Is it the absurd name of this place? Or is it something else? Well, I don’t believe in hopelessness, and from the looks of it, neither do you. Even if you haven’t realized that yet. It might be hard, but you keep shuffling along looking for another way. So just hold it together a little longer. After all, no one expects to end up in a situation like this. I can’t say I was expecting it myself. Now that I am, I’ve got some work to do. But I’m not here to play hero for anyone. I’m not here to tell you everything’s just gonna be okay. I don’t make promises like that. So shove your arms back into their sockets, stand up straight, and pay attention.
There was some kind of battle here not too long ago. And from the looks of it, this place ended up going through hell. With the way it still is, water-logged and beginning to rot-just like all of you-then it’s obvious no one’s coming to help. It’s not nice to hear it, but I don’t do nice. I’m here to tell you to pull it together. Help yourselves. Don’t just come here to fall apart and drown underneath all this wasteland. Fix it. Whatever came through here wanted to destroy you. I can see that. And from the damage it caused, it was huge. After everything I saw, I didn’t think there could be anyone left alive. Good thing I was wrong.
Or was I?
It’s time to show me. You’re all survivors, aren’t you? It doesn’t need to start with reconstruction efforts. There are enough places left for you to make use of. You’ve just gotta make them yours. There’s just one threat waiting between you and that. It’s up on the silo over there. Other places have aimless gorillas and toucans flying near the ground. But around there? I saw no one. So that’s the real problem here. That’s what you need to go after to get your lives back. Just taking down the sign telling you all to die won’t fix things. Claim your freedom from who’s in charge. Take care of the rest afterward.
So, how’s it gonna be? Are you gonna fight? Or are you gonna die? Just know that this is all I’ve got planned. After this, you’re all on your own again. Let’s hope you make me proud.
Poll Vote! Character: Simba
Series: The Lion King
Character Age: 3, still a cub
Canon: Once upon a time, there was a pride of lions who lived on the African plains. They were strong, brave, and ruled their lands, the Pride Lands, with fairness and justice. Their territory is vast, covering all the lands that the sunlight at sunrise touches. All of it can be seen from Pride Rock, a vast monolith in the savannah that serves as the lions’ home.
Simba is the current heir to the throne. He, at this point in time, is still just a cub. He is headstrong and brash, and tries his best to be brave. He wants to be the best king that he can someday, and looks up to his father as his biggest idol. He has yet to learn responsibility, though, and he prefers to go off and do his own thing while bragging about how wonderful he thinks he is. He also hates taking baths.
Sample Post: So what kind of grass is this, anyway? It’s - agh - hard to walk through without breaking it. Or getting it stuck in my fur. Or both. What kind of grass does that? And what kind of grass has all these bulby things and is taller than five of me? This place hasn’t gone for a while without rain, has it? I can’t think of another reason why it would be like that. At least I can still sneak through it, and pounce without getting caught. That’s the important thing. Hm? Oh, hey, wait a second. I’ll be right back.
Ha! Go ahead, fly away! Perfect. That hornbill didn’t stand a chance. He’s just lucky I’m not that hungry right now. Hehe, like I said - pouncing here? Is awesome.
On second thought, maybe I should have tried to eat it. Those things over there, they look... kind of like gazelles. Shorter, and their horns are different, but besides that... there's no way they can be meat, though. They just don't smell right. And all this rotting meat walking around - it’s making me sick. This whole place smells like an elephant fart.
What is there for a lion to eat here? Please tell me there's something other than hornbills that isn't bugs or grass. Like I said, those other things just smell weird, not like meat at all. I'm not going anywhere near them. Besides, they're just like those rotting meat things, just standing there. It wouldn't even be a challenge.
Whatever. I'm sure there's something around here that's good. There has to be. That thing on the shiny tower looks really big, and smells pretty interesting. Maybe I'll go check it out... after I take a nap, which would be after I get those grass pieces out of my fur. Yeah, that sounds good. Maybe when I wake up there'll be something nearby that actually smells and looks slightly like something I'd be willing to eat.
