Oz is Oz. There is an implicit trust there and a clear dependency that has nothing to do with the Chain and everything to do with the Girl. He is the first one that she turns to and the one she stands beside, no matter what - a source of shared strength for all the confusion around her.
He is, quite simply, the warmth she’s been waiting for.

Stupid Seaweedhead! That pretty much sums him up for her - yet despite the fights over making her wait to eat, or trying to take all of Oz’s time, she might - MAYBE - admit under extreme duress that she kind of… likes him.
A little.
But only if she’s really, really hungry. Because while he’s an unsightly brat, she loves his cooking.

Definitely makes her uneasy, even if she doesn’t quite understand the why of it. Something in his eyes or the way he look at her, or the way he smiles always triggers the fight or flight instinct in her. She tends to give him a wide berth or a scowl and a shout if she does have to deal with him.

He confuses her. He’s loud and annoying sometimes, always lecturing her Oz, but he has moments where he’s… nice. Or forgets to look at her like she’s just a Chain. She’s still trying to figure out why he has to make everything so complicated, so she can’t help but keep going back to poke the excitable boy.
Besides, when she’s bored, he’s easy to rile up.

Sister Sharon says some pretty confusing things sometimes, but she’s nice. Even if she makes Alice feel like the prey caught in a trap sometimes. She’s not too fond of the dresses Sharon sometimes shoves her into, and doesn’t always catch the more subtle nuances of her looks or her words, but overall… she kind of likes the way the woman treats her.
And while it feels a bit strange on the tongue to call Sharon ‘sister’, she kind of likes the warm feeling it gives when she does so.

She’d quite happily see him maimed or dead. Even better if that stupid Seaweed-head would let her be the one to do it. He’s constantly taunting her, looking at her as if she were some sort of puzzle to break apart and put back together and overall, leaves a sense that she can’t trust him at all.
And yet… he’s Oz’s friend, kind of, which makes him her friend too. Unfortunately.
…She’d still happily watch him bleed.
