So I haven't posted an entry here since before Halloween. Let' start there.

Back in March Tyler discovered airplanes, and from there it snow-balled into trains, cars, trucks, etc. Around Halloween he was particularly into trains, so I dressed him up as a conductor. This may be the last Halloween I have a say in his costume choic :o( Best part ( Read more... )

Wow--poor Tyler, and poor you! I'm so glad he is healing well, but I hope that you talked to the dog's owners about behavioral training. I LOVE dogs, but not all dogs are good with kids, and this one needs some major training.

It's my sister-in-law's dog. Quite frankly it was out of character for it, and I think Tyler was the first little kid he'd been around. I'm hoping it is just a puppy thing, since the dog wasn't quite a year old at the time. My SIL felt awful, I didn't want to be the one to say anything about her dog. I'd already delt with enough at that point and was trying to comfort her and my MIL about the whole situation. Now I'm just ready to forget about it!

Training still can't hurt and will likely only help. As I said before, I love dogs, but I've seen the damage one can do to a child. My nephew was clipped by my SIL's sister's dog and narrowly escaped severe and possibly permanent eye damage. He didn't do anything to cause the dog to react and had been around the dog numerous times over the past couple of years.

Just sayin'
