Sarah,

It's so nice to get a little sneek peak into your life. You HATE summer camp?! That's blasphemous! haha, I understand though.
I don't work at camp any more :( and it makes me sad... more sad because camp doesn't seem to want me. Well everyone else wants me except for Bronco and Pat who now run the show and are stupid. (do not repeat, haha as I am being unprofessional) but sooo true.
Linda quit because of it all and well - I think we let you know that last summer Dave Stevens passed away of a heart attack. :( Very sad.

CAMP SHMAMP!

I went to Korea this summer instead and worked at an English summer camp held in a five star resort. I know living in Beijing doing a half year teaching contract. I'm working my butt off - but hopefully everything will figure itself out in the next two weeks and I won't be at school for so many hours.

Keep in touch - and then I'll invite myself down to your place for shopping and good times when I get back! Ha. :)

Jacqueline,
I did not hate summer camp at Sasamat...That was the most fun I've had working a summer job. It was just this summer...I can't comment too indepth about it on here because we're not allowed to, so maybe I'll send you a FB message, but...it was terrible.

I am not sure I remember who Dave Stevens was...:( That is sad, though.

I wish I had the freedom to travel like you do; it sounds like so much fun!

And yes, you are welcome at any time to come shopping in Seattle with me:) Have fun in Beijing!

And I thought my summer camp was bad, but ten weeks and fifty kids? Oi. Ours was eight weeks and the cap we could have was 25 kids. Our largest number was 24 kids, but most of the time we were under staffed. We also went on one or two field trips a week, most of them being quite lame. It`s because the owner of our daycare is cheap. What sort of field trips did you go on?

We went to parks, museums, an overnight, water slides, library, swimming pool, more parks, beaches, hiking, a bug farm, a zoo...I liked the field trips, they were fun. By the end of summer, I was starting feeling sick being on a school bus every day.
What is the required ratio in Canada? Here it's 1:15.
Did you like your camp?

We went to a ton of parks. We pretty much went every day, unless it was pouring rain that day. We went to museums, water parks, a movie, laser tag, bowling, a petting zoo, hikes, and that`s all I can really remember.

Our ratio depends on the age. For kids five and six it`s 1:10 and seven and above it`s 1:15. We have a lot of five and six year old kids, and if they wanted to be with the other kid, we had to have another teacher in that group. We also had two special need children this summer.

I somewhat enjoyed it. The fact that we had hardly any staff really messed up our plans. Transportation was a huge hassle because we only have two vans, so we had to have other people use their cars to drive, if they were even working at the time. Plus, we never went to anything super fun, like Playland or the Aquarium. The owner is paranoid and cheap; she thinks it`s too far, something could happen, and stuff like that is too expensive, so our summer was quite low key. Even a parent complained about it :/
