Taking a break from the hot sun, so I might as well waste soem bandwidth here...

My big job for today was getting the Farmall Cub up and running. (For those who haven't seen it, it looks like this - this one isn't ours but it's very close.)

So that's what the tractor looks like. I remember when you visited like a year ago and we went to the Princess Auto looking for bits and bobs for it. Neat.

Tractors are lovely things to work on. Everything is easy to get at, everything is made well (within the limits of the technologies available at the time) and they're surprisingly easy to learn to run. And unlike drag racers, they rarely if ever blow up or crash into guard rails.

Yeah they're kind of like little monster trucks, when you really think about it, aren't they?

Like, tractors are to monster trucks as professional go-karts are to race cars?

Err, not really, no... a tractor is little more than a sealed low-speed drive train, designed to pull as much of a load as possible with the horsepower to hand. Pulling stuff around is the kind of thing monster trucks do poorly if at all.
