More Loblaws...

Since Loblaws is so close to me and they have a sale on diapers, I thought I would pop in to grab a couple of things. Before putting anything in my cart, I thought I would check in the makeup aisle. Sure enough, there is still a shelf with various makeup bags targetted to tween/teen girls that say, "TOO PRETTY FOR MATH." I couldn't believe it.

WOW, what a message to send to our young girls. As if being bombarded my media, television, magazines, that you HAVE to be pretty to be liked in society. I am glad that you wrote to Loblaws, I hope many others have as well. It's crap like this, that we can actually try and do something about. I have actually boycotted a store due to unbelievably bad service but I never said anything other than complain to the manager. I should have written a letter. Next time, i will. Hope they respond to your letter.

Too Pretty for Math

Yep, that's the one. They are still selling them. My friend bought one to use with her grade 7 class when she talks about negative messages in the media. She also wrote a letter. I don't know why they would bother telling me that they are pulling the product when they are just leaving it on their shelves.
