The sausage thing you had for lunch at Luna Park we would normally call a sausage sizzle/sausage sandwich here in Sydney, but maybe they have a different name in Melbourne, I'm not sure.
I love the window seat! I was just reading your comments below, I also don't really understand how the Melbourne Cup practically stops the entire country! Though my boyfriend's mum explained that "it's a social thing." I enjoyed watching it (well, moreso the people) on tv!
Oh, I love Melbourne Cup day, and I'm sad I missed it this year! It is like the one day a year that New Zealanders all bet on the races, lol.
I love the pictures - I saw Wicked here in London and it was great! I know that Rob Guest who played the Wizard in that stage show died a few weeks ago, and that was a sad time for everyone. He was a very well respected theatre actor in NZ and Australia.
I was kind of lmao that people make so much fuss about a horse race that lasts like a minute :$ We were there days beforehand and everyone was already dressed up with weird fancy hats and such
It's an awesome musical. I've been meaning to see it in London for a while now, but I kept going to other shows.
We don't make such a fuss about it in New Zealand, but it certainly is something we do celebrate. There are always work racing draws, and it is about the only day I would ever buy a betting ticket! I'm not sure why but yes!
I wanted to bet, but it seemed like everything was against me doing so (I couldn't bet in time) which I suppose was good as I would've bet on Septimus and he didn't win
