blame it on the girls who know what to do

Hello friends! It's a very lazy Sunday morning, so now seemed like a good time to write an entry. And I'm still going to call it morning, even though it's after noon, because it still feels like 11:30. Daylight savings totally screwed me up this time, because Brad and I stayed up late watching a movie last night, so I didn't get to bed till after 1 ( Read more... )

That sucks that you had to wait around so much! Not cool! But! Awesome that you can use that money to pay for certain things. :-) I hope you enjoy your March break, whatever you do!

You know, I've been considering doing the same thing re: birth control. I have that book as well, so I really should read it more carefully. I've been on this bc for 8 years and I think my body needs a break. :\ I'm going to ask for experiences in thequestionclub community and see what they say. I completely agree with you about how male bc pills (or another method, since we have a few) should be made available. I'm sure you've seen that someecard about it? Crap, I can't recall what it says right now, but something about a vest/bullets? Eh. Anyway, yeah, silly politicians/politics (stupid, more like).

Yeah, it was definitely frustrating. But I will definitely appreciate the money when I get it! And thanks!

I don't think I've seen the someecard, no, but yeah, it is kind of a stupid situation. I hope you get some answers from thequestionclub!

That sucks about the tax thing. I'm glad it all got sorted in the end, though. What a nightmare ( ... )

Yeah, for real! Me too.

Ouch, that does not sound like a fun period. :( I would probably want to stay on bc too if I had periods like that. You have my sympathies, that's for sure!

Huh, that sounds interesting. I think it'd be great if they had something less invasive, too.

Thanks! :)

I might have my brother visiting on the weekend, but if not I'd be up for a latte/chat date with you :)

Or if you're free during the week in the evening sometime, that would work too.

I should do my taxes...

Awesome! I'm free any evening except for Thursday at this point, although that may change if dinner plans with anyone get confirmed. Let me know what works for you, and we'll schedule something, then I can work other plans around that. :) Or the weekend is always fine, too. Whatever's easiest. :)

Yeah, it was definitely frustrating, but I didn't feel like doing them myself again, especially since the return was already done, it was just the coupon code that took so long to figure out. Still annoying, though.

Ugh that sounds super frustrating about your taxes! But I'm glad it will pay down so much :) I went through three different types of software preparing my taxes and eventually found one that worked. That was super frustrating. I finally got mine done last weekend though, yay!

I'm with you on male birth control. If they can stop us from ovulating, why can't they stop men from producing semen???

Yeah, it definitely was. But you're right, while I'm disappointed that I'm not getting as much back as I got last year, I am glad that we can use it to take care of a bunch of stuff. And omg, what a hassle! Three different softwares! Which one did you end up going with?

Exactly!

I tried FreeFileFillableForms, but it was giving me XML parse errors on my RRSPs and TurboTax was super annoying about Canadian stuff in another way. TaxAct.com finally worked and it turned out to be free, for anyone!

Oooh, really? That's good to know. I still need to file my American taxes, but I was just going to print off the forms from the IRS website and mail them in. But if TaxAct is free, I'll have to check that out. I'm glad you were able to finally get yours done!
