Y'all! I don't know how many of you use google reader for feeds, but it will be no more as of July 1st. This makes me sad, mainly because I do not like forced change and now I have to figure out another way to read all of my subscriptions. So, what do you guys use? There's gotta be other feed readers besides google reader, but I have no idea what ( Read more... )

I just figured out Google Reader so having to change doesn't sit well with me. I have no idea what I'll use. :(

Argh, technology. Always changing just when you think you've got a handle on it.

Unrelated to Google Reader's demise ( :( ), but is your LJ profile page changed?

Yeah, it's the new style, but it's been that way for a little while now. Not sure how long exactly. At least my friends page hasn't switched to the new style yet, knock on wood. I'm hoping it doesn't.

I know!! I haven't found anything either, but I'd better start looking.
If something works, I really hate to change it. I have all my feeds just the way I like them... this sucks. :P

Well it's making me feel a little bit better that I'm not the only one at a bit of a loss here. I thought everyone else would have some other amazing tool that I was the last to hear about, because that's often the case with me and the internet. :p

Ugh, I couldn't believe it too when I saw that pop up and judging from the reaction across the net, it's a poor choice for Google to end that product. But oh well, word on the street is that it's being integrated into Google+ at which point I would be forced to find a new product anyway ( ... )

Thanks, Dave! I definitely appreciate the info on the different options out there. I will have to check out Netvibes and Feedly, and see which one I feel is more manageable.

No problemo!! I actually just checked out feedly, it's definitely very cool and adds a very magazine like quality to your feeds. Alas, it's really not cloud-based so you'll need an app/add-on to access your feeds on whichever device you wish to see the feeds in. The very cool part though is if you login with your Google account, your feeds will show up immediately. So there's not much of a hassle to check it out and I think worth it if you only access your feeds from a pc and let's say your phone.

Yeah, I pretty much only ever check my feeds from my laptop at home . . . sometimes from my work laptop, but if it's just a firefox add-on, I have no problem doing that. Thanks again!

I'm so sad about this. I'm looking at theoldreader.com, though I haven't gotten a chance to actually import everything and really try it out yet.
