I've never understood why you would have to pay a bank for holding onto your money. What does it cost them? Oh right, NOTHING. I have a Chase account and having a direct deposit makes my bank account free. Otherwise, I'd have to pay a monthly fee. I don't get it. I just got an ad in the mail from another bank for a free $200 if you open an account with them, but it looks like it's only free IF you keep $15,000 in your account. Yeah, sure, okay.
Your pictures make me want to go to an amusement park!
Oh I hate that, where they say they'll waive the fees if you keep a certain amount in your account but it's always some ridiculously high amount that most people won't actually be able to afford. Yeah, that's helpful. Pretty sure the people who can keep $15,000 in an account can probably afford the monthly fee a lot better than I can! :p
You should! You've got some good ones in Ohio, right? Are you close to any of them?
Right? That's the thing. The people who have all that money don't need a free checking account. You'd think they'd be trying to cater to the average person, but what do I know? Ugh. I hope you're able to find a better bank!
Yes! I am about an hour away from Cedar Point. Dan and I plan to go there this summer.
You should ALWAYS be earning interest on your money, whether in a checking account or otherwise. Instead of a regular savings account have you considered a money market? Usually the interest rates are better, and it's just as easy to use/access.
I don't know much (anything, really) about money market accounts, but I know ING has a bunch of different options for savings accounts as well, so I will look into that with them.
