Hiiii friends. Sorry I've fallen off the LJ wagon again. I just feel like there hasn't been much going on that was worth writing about. Since my last entry, the following has happened
( Read more... )
Yeah, I get it all the time at work, that people think I'm "so young" to be a psychologist already. I never know what to say to that. I went to grad school, I've got my degrees, and I've been doing this job for over 3 years now. Sure, I'm still early in my career but everyone is at some point. And then people always tell me, oh you'll love looking young when you get older/when you're in your 40s/when blah blah blah, but so far I'm not seeing a whole lot of advantages. :-/
Fall is definitely my favorite season too! I'm just not ready for summer to be over and to have to go back to work yet. ;)
Oh, will do! I'll have to look it up again, make sure it hasn't sold out already, but I will keep you posted. :)
Ugh, yes, I have gotten mistaken for a student at the schools where I work, and it's like, okay, yes, I'm short and I have a young-looking face (apparently), but look at the clearly grown-up clothes I'm wearing and the heels that I'm usually wearing and do you REALLY think I could be a student? Come on people. :-/
Yeah, having it go the other way around would be nice, but I don't think I've had that happen to me.
Haha, when my stepmom found out I was engaged, she told me she'd always known I was going to marry young, but I was 26 when we got married! I don't really think that's young to get married, certainly not like someone getting married at 20 or something. :p
I dunno, in some social circles, getting married at 26 is young! I think it is probably a bit on the young side in my social circles considering how few married people I know. Most of my friends are 26-28 and single?
Yeah, I guess so. I was probably one of the first few around my age to get married, but definitely not the first, and I do know a few friends who got married younger than I did, too. I guess it's all relative.
I'm glad you had a good birthday. Nothing wrong at all with low key. :D
Wow at the whole calories/blood thing, just wow. I never knew about about the calories and giving blood, nor would it even occur to me to think that because, just no. I think I would've been too shocked to say anything to that guy.
400 stitches!!!! I have a hard time even with just 20. *bows down to your knitting prowess* :D
The book signing sounds great, especially because you like his work so much. I hope there will be a picture. :D
Yeah, I was pretty insulted by that whole thing, honestly. I wish I'd had something snappy to say on the spot to let him know how inappropriate that comment was. :-/
Haha, stitch markers definitely help a lot with managing large numbers of stitches. They help to break it up so I'm not dealing with all 400 at once, I'm dealing with 28 in this section and then 36 in the next section, and so on. It would be much more difficult without the stitch markers for sure!
I'll definitely try to get one, for sure! I'm pretty sure pictures are allowed, so I'll do my best! :)
