I have to tell you guys about the craziness that was the Neil Gaiman book signing on Tuesday! First of all, the event was supposed to start at 6:30, so Erin and I agreed to meet up at 6. I took the TTC and it didn't take me as long to get there as I expected, but when I got there at 5:30, there was already a line halfway down the block to get in. I ( Read more... )

Goodness, what an ordeal! I *hate* waiting, and it's even worse when hungry, so I'm glad you guys got to leave for a bit to get something to eat. I wonder if book signings usually take this long? I've never been to one so I don't know.

So happy for you that you got to meet him and get your books signed. I loved your fangirly expression! :-)

I haven't watched the show because we don't have Netflix, but I've heard such good things I'm tempted to get it!

I guess it probably depends both on the size of the venue/crowd and the popularity of the author, right? Like if it's a smaller group or a less famous author, it probably wouldn't take as long to get through everyone. I think for Neil Gaiman, though, this might be standard. Or it might have been slightly worse since this is supposed to be his last signing tour, so maybe more people wanted to stay and get their stuff signed since they won't have another opportunity to do so. It's the first one I've been to, so I really can't say either.

Haha, thanks. :)

Yeah, it's really good! Definitely worth checking out if you do get Netflix. Also, how do you watch movies and stuff without Netflix?

Last signing tour EVER?! :o

We have cable so we use that, or we rent stuff on Redbox.

I guess? That's what it said, anyway.

Ohh, I forgot about redbox. I don't think they have that up here.

That's so crazy - some other people I know who live in Toronto posted photos from the Neil Gaiman signing on Facebook!

Haha, oh really? That's awesome. :) I'd ask if I could see them, but I probably can't since I'm not on facebook.

Oh, they were just photos of them getting their books signed. I always think the colliding of friend groups is cool! Hope you had a good weekend!

I always think the colliding of friend groups is cool! - Yeah, me too. It's always fun to find out just how small the world really is. :)

And thanks, the weekend was good. I need to write about going to the Toronto Islands on Friday at some point. :)
