Well, two weeks after the fact, it is high past time that I posted about my cottage weekend! It was fantastic, which is no less than I expected. Friday the 1st I picked up Lynn, Ilana and Gabe, and after a brief stop at Metro to pick up discounted Halloween candy, we were on our way. Even with that stop and a stop for lunch, the trip only took ( Read more... )

You live in Toronto, right? I will actually be going there very soon... Wanna meet up for coffee? (And maybe you can see my email address if I leave this comment? Not sure... I couldn't find a way to email you on here.)

Yes, I do, and I would LOVE to meet up for coffee! I don't think I can see your email address, just the link to your google+ profile, but you can email me at alia dot siegrist at gmail, and we'll work out the details. :) I'm so glad you messaged me!

Sounds like an awesome weekend at the knitting cottage! And your cardigan is SO pretty. I swear when you posted photos of it before in progress, it looked almost burgundy. I really love how it looks so different in different light.

It really was great. :) And thank you! I know, its magical color-changing ability is one of my favorite things about it. It also means I'll be able to wear it with just about anything. :D

It sounds (and looks!) like you guys had a lot of fun! What a great girls weekend. :-) Your cardigan looks great! I can't get over how different it looks in natural light vs the other pictures you posted. You're so crafty, I love it! How long did it take you to knit it?

The smores place looks amazing and that's super nice of you to offer kitty sitting as a gift!

Is Brad going with you on the trip? It's so exciting that you'll get to visit your peeps this year!

Thank you! All told, it took me about 2.5 months, I started at the very end of July, worked on it for about 2 weeks, then put it on hold for a month while I waited for the last skein of yarn to come in, then have worked on it since mid-September. I'm really glad it's done, and just as the weather's starting to get cold!

No, Brad won't be coming with me. He'd be bored and unhappy to have to hang out with my friends (mostly people he doesn't know) for two weeks straight. It'd be way outside of his comfort zone, and there's no reason for him to do that. But yeah, I'm definitely excited about the trip!
