Dear Yuletide author...
Hi dear author,
First off, thank you for writing me something, and I'm sure I'll love whatever it is you decide to write! I can't wait to see what you come up with, and hopefully you've had fun writing it as well.
I'm not all that picky when it comes to requests, as you'll no doubt see when you read my notes below. Happy endings, sad endings, major character death, angst, AUs, smut, gen, meet/cute, day in the life, all are ok with me. The only things I really don't want to see are incest, underage, rape/non-con, and dubcon, please.
With that being said, here's some more specific comments on the fandoms I've requested:
Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell - Cath Avery, Wren Avery, Levi (Fangirl), Reagan (Fangirl)
I wasn't sure what to expect when I read this book for the first time. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it, and much more I wanted to read about once it was over. I don't read books more than once normally, but after reading this on my e-reader I picked up special edition hardcopy to read again because yeah, really dug it.
I'd love to read more post-ending happenings for the whole gang, especially with Cath and Levi. Or, if you prefer, Cath and Wren fangirling together some more like they used to in the old days would be awesome. Maybe they both drag Levi and (a very, very reluctant) Reagan to a con together? Anything you'd like to write would be awesome, I'm sure.
Father Ted - Ted Crilly, Dougal McGuire, Jack Hackett, Mrs. Doyle
A show that sadly ended much too soon. I really enjoyed watching it but I'd never read or wrote any fic until I saw that someone else nominated it a few years ago. I wrote a treat for it and have wanted to read/write more of it ever since.
Any fic featuring more wacky antics from the parochial house would be welcome. You can even focus on just Ted and Dougal if you'd prefer, as they're my favourite part of the series. Maybe Dougal has discovered Pokemon Go and is driving Ted (and likely the rest of Craggy Island) crazy with it, and their church is a Pokestop? Or perhaps they're trying to work on another Eurovision song entry together. Anything you'd want to write would be awesome!
The Good Place (TV) - Eleanor Shellstrop, Tahani Al-Jamil
Full confession: I'm a huge Kristen Bell fan, dating back to her Veronica Mars days. So it was really a given that I'd like this show, only I didn't expect to like it as much as I have, largely due to the rest of the cast. They're all amazing, and I want to know more about them all.
I went into Yuletide two years ago requesting this but in a totally different light. I was assigned this show too, and ended up writing some Eleanor/Tahani fic by request. Since then I'm sold and am 100% behind this ship. Anything and everything you want to write about them would be amazing. An AU (if you're up-to-date on the show you'll know which one I mean!) would work well here, given the setting and the show itself. Use your imagination and just do whatever you want; maybe they run a coffee shop together (with a pun-tastic name of course) in one version, or become Good Place police officers of some kind - seriously, can't you see Eleanor as a bad cop? Just go crazy and have fun with it!
Also feel free to include other characters if you wish, they're all great, just as long as Eleanor and Tahani are the main focus.
We're The Millers - David Clark (We're The Millers), Sarah "Rose" O'Reilly, Casey Mathis, Kenny Rossmore
I loved this movie, which I saw with a cousin of mine just for something to do after we'd gone to see another movie first. The one we went to see was meh, but this one left us both very happy. I left it wanting to read or write fic about where they went from there, as their own dysfunctional family unit.
Maybe we can fast-forward to modern day Canada, where marijuana is now legal. Could they be moved here while still under protection, only instead of dealing weed illegally they run their own legal shop now? Or you can write them in an AU - maybe running their own coffee shop, or they have to survive a zombie outbreak (I'm also requesting Zombieland, which is why that popped into my head XD)? Anything you'd like to write would be awesome.
Zombieland (2009) - Columbus (Zombieland), Wichita (Zombieland)
This is a perennial nomination/request for me. The world just needs more Zombieland fic, period. I'm excited that there's talk of a sequel, with the original cast supposedly on board as well, which I hope will help with the fic part. It's such a great movie, the film that made me upgrade to a Blu-Ray player actually, and was the first HD film I owned. So much fun and a great cast with great chemistry.
I'd love to see where you have them going next, post-movie. Do they head south to Mexico, north to the pacific northwest, or amble back east? Maybe they go visit some of their respective hometowns, though that may be too painful for some. Or do they go for Canada/Alaska, where it's colder and maybe safer? Heck, they could find a boat and sail somewhere else too even. The possibilities are endless! Feel free to write an AU if you'd like as well. Anything you'd like to see happen would be great. I ship Columbus/Wichita but you don't have to write that if you don't want to, and feel free to use them all as long as those two are the main focus.
