Hehehe-I'm handling the cold surprisingly well. It may be in the negatives sometimes, but there isn't much moisture, so its not so bad until we get the wind. I will definately keep you posted and do my best not to freeze to death. ;P Best wishes to you too!!
Hahaha-thanks. No, oddly enough, I totally screwed up my audition, but I wrote him a letter telling him how stressed out I was and that I've never sounded that bad, and that I really am an award winning bass player on the west coast-which is weird to think of... Well-the only bad part was the electric, which was the only thing I've had to practice much on for half a year, and actually my most award-winning instrument... When I picked up the upright and he asked me to just do a walking bass line in whatever key he wanted, everything was cool. We did auditions for the rhythm section as a group-that was totally unexpected. The only reason I screwed up on electric was because (ok-I was hecka stressed out, but other than that) he asked the drummer to play along with me. It got me totally off, even though I played it perfectly like a million times-oh, you already know this, I called you that day. Well...I got in so it doesn't matter anymore

Are you coming back up here for next summer? If not, then you have to be in Ogden on July 30. Why, you ask? Cascades will be performing there live just for you (and hundreds of other fans, but that's beside the point). It'd be so cool to see a familiar face on the road.

yeah, I was ticked to find out we weren't doing the seattle show too.
well, it sounds like you're having the time of your life. I am too. Drum corps is incredibly awesome, both in and outside of rehearsal. The "family" atmosphere is 10 times that of high school band. I don't know if you have all the time in the world down there, but if you have some spare time, I'd definetely take a trek over to Denver and try out for Blue Knights next winter. Its an experience you wont want to live without.
