Trauma Kit 411

Because I'm a member of St. John Ambulance I've decided to start my own trauma kit. If I'm going to be using it, I might as well have my own so that I know where things are, I know its stocked and I can keep it on me at all times. A lot of people use the common trauma kits and you can't always guarantee that they are properly stocked.

I bought a bag ( Read more... )

As much as I bust on wackers, I have a pretty extensive kit myself. That one looks impressive. The A600 is a good kit. We use similar bags where I work. If you can find room, you may want to add an adjustable C-Collar or 2 as well. They don't take much room when laid flat and are nice to have. Just a thought.

I also have an EMS vest (read as fishing vest w/ 14 pockets) that I keep a lot of my more basic ALS supplies in, in case I am running short or can't find something in a hurry.

I actually have two of the ajustable collars and I think they are great. They really take up less room than the other ones.

I'll have to look for the EMS vest though, sounnds interesting.

StatPacks tend to make me drool, although they do get kind of expensive. I have a Traverse that I keep some basics in (bandaging stuff, gloves, etc, or sharps/tubes/saline locks/flushes when I'm working in the ED (and get to do IVs wearing my "med student" hat)). It's very much a dinger-bag, but I like it. Also have one of these that lives in the trunk of my car for first responding.
