Possibly My Greatest Rant Ever

Jul 21, 2010 19:56

I don't really have much from real life to talk about. Went to get fingerprinted today, so I can apply for my FBI police records. It's annoying because I have to send the application to the FBI and then when I get the record back and send it to the State Department to get the apostille, and then take it to Spain and do lots more. Even worse, all ( Read more... )

I probably should remember this, but why are you going to Spain?

And I didn't know Michael Gambon was such a dick... it'd probably explain my dislike of his portrayal of Dumbledore. I loved Richard Harris, he played Dumbledore exactly like how I'd imagined him in the books.

I'm going on study abroad for my junior year.

I thought I would use some quotes to prove to people that he is, rather than just ranting about him. But even I was surprised by what I found.

OMG Michael Gambon is a douche. D:

Also, can you explain this whole fingerprinting FBI thing to me? Are you a spy?

I'm guessing you found this post because it was one of my last public posts (maybe?). Either way, not sure if you noticed it's from 2010, when I was getting ready to go to Spain on study abroad. I had to have all kinds of paperwork done to apply for my visa. It was a huge pain in the ass -- I had to do part of application at the Spanish consulate and then had to make various trips to the foreign office once I was in Spain. So one of things I had to do was get fingerprinted and have an FBI background check, so I could bring that with me to the office in Spain.

I just reread all the Michael Gambon quote. Yeesh. What a nightmare.

Yes, I noticed the date after I posted. But I felt curious about the FBI stuff, so.

I went on a trip around the world and I didn't have to jump through these kinds of hoops. (For my Russian visa I did have to show up to their dodgy consulate and pay CASH FOR THE MOTHERLAND, though.)

I always love getting comments. Just wanted to clarify that I'm not a spy anymore.

I think the requirement for being a student are generally more stringent than for traveling. Everyone in my program had to go to their respective consulates in the US to get a student visa, and because I was there for a year, I had to do all this add'l stuff in Spain to be a legal resident.
