My thoughts on last night's episode

Oct 26, 2013 16:44

So it has been a while since I posted anything HF0 related. Why, not really sure because I'm been watching like the loyal fan I am but I just haven't felt the need to do an reaction post, until now that is. Anyways like me go on by saying that last night's episode to me was not very good. Not hating on the people that liked it but in my opinion ( Read more... )

Clicking an imaginary like bottom.
I used to love this show so much, add a new character, mess with the dynamic and bam, another show who is wasted.

Thanks for the response. I highly believe that a new character can be added that doesn't mess up original characters dynamic. Some shows I watch have done this such as Supernatural and Warehouse 13 and it was done wonderfully. Heck NCIS has been doing it for years and each character actually brings something to the show. So with that being said it is possible. HF0 hasn't figured out how to do it well yet.

Well for Warehouse and SPN it's true because the writers didn't mess with the particularities of the originals character.
For NCIS i'm not sure, as much i like Cote and could appreciate Ziva, i hated what they did the last seasons and the TiVa who is just so predictable.
NCIS lost a lot of fans, fans who were in adoration with the show.
It's just a need to do a balance with the new characters and the formers. For me so far H5.0 failed.

Agree, agree, agree..and agree. You pretty much covered all the points I'd cover if I ever bothered to use lj for anything other than posting fic.

Honestly, although there are clearly some who'll take anything but a glowing review as negative bashing, it's all true. I'm still hanging with show, but I sorely miss the team magic that's been missing for several season. I watch for those few moments it arises, and with every new ep I hope for more.

This ep...not so much. Doris can stay gone, please. Joe...is sneaky and has some sort of "I Dream of Jeannie" magic to him that allows him to just blink/pop up wherever and whenever. It's weird how he was in the morgue with Billy...and that, I liked Billy, too. Not for the ridiculous love triangle they were leaning toward, but because he and Catherine really seemed to have a chemistry that's definitely not apparent between her and Steve (McDanno aside, although that's the way I lean).
I miss the team interaction. Now it all seems so forced. contrived. and sometimes, silly.

I know right. Why is it considered bashing just because I am expressing how I feel. It's ridiculus really but it won't stop me from stating how I feel.

If a tweet someone from CBS sent as a response to a Five-0 fan is true, Cath will be joining the team. Maybe that's why they killed Billy off. I didn't watch the episode but I was surprised to hear they did that, I was sure they were going to draw out the Steve jealousy line more ( ... )

I try not to pay attention to statements like that because they are mostly lies and are not direct quotes from the actor's mouth. I am just sad that I am seeing less of Scott because he brings something special to the show that I am starting to miss.

BTW, I am Jewish and my Father passed away three days after Scott's mom. Because of the way the Jewish calendar fell this year, the anniversary was September 9th for me. The anniversary can be remembered anywhere in the world where there is a minyan (10 adult Jews), and does not require you to miss work or fly back to LA. I think that TPTB are just focusing on the Steve/Catherine relationship, regardless of the lack of chemistry, so there are fewer scenes and story lines with Scott, which is a real shame. Too many people have commented on how wonderful the bromance is, so its really too bad that the relationship is ignored and that they keep forcing these women on Steve.

I'm glad there is more Cath. I can't get enough of her. I love that the writers put her in more often. I think she's a great actress, looks stunning and does the gun waving perfectly. I love her car, her smile and her relationship with Steve. Absolutely cannot get enough of it. So, there different opinions. Luckily, neither creators or writers listen to us rambling and do their jobs regardless of our opinions.

While I won't say that I love Catherine I don't hate her and have no problem with her being on the show, I like her better in small doses. But hey, that's just me. And thanks for not hating on me about my Catherine opinions and sharing your own. It's nice that we can disagree and respect each others opinions.
