Hello all. I will be upfront and say that I am not the one diagnosed with cancer, but this is by the far the most active English community about cancer & I was hoping someone could answer my question. If I have done something wrong by posting here I apologise sincerely, I'm just frantic right now & not sure where to look, as Google isn't helping.

In brief, tests are done to see how advanced the cancer is (if it is localized or has spread and if the latter, how far) and the type of surgery and treatment afterwards depends on that diagnosis.
