I just got this email request re a job:

"I forgot to say that I spoke with the Executive Chairman and
he would prefer that you do not wear a nose whilst in the office."

I fell apart laughing at that for ages.

Of course it was meant to be about not wearing my nose ring/stud whilst in the office.

It's a bit of a tough job market when they think they can ask people to not wear their own noses in the office!

What I would do (if I was on not-bad terms with this person) is to clarify with them that they didn't want you to wear your nose to the office, and ask them how they'd recommend you go about that. Then watch the faces redden. ;)
