And that little scene with Lisa on the stairs, her 'best year of my life' speech? (And wow, was she orange, or was that just my tv?) It all left me bored. It felt like an ep that should have been buried in season one or two, not a season six premiere. That was the one thing that really bugged me. If that had've been me, after everything that happened and letting this guy into my family with my young kid, for him to say that to me? I'd have smacked him round the head with a frying pan and told him to GTF outta there

as i told you on twitter, i did kind of love the episode. i wasn't blown away by it, but i suppose that nothing they could open the season with was going to, after last season's finale. (and season five, in its entirety, really not that good a season, imho, but that might be because i'm totally not -and never am going to be- a cas!fan

I love season five, and not just because of Cas, I just love the arc and the episodes were really chock full of all that I love about the show, you know?
The whole ep seemed rushed to me, and throwing the Campbells in there was so sudden, I think. I would've liked Sam and Dean to have more, I don't know, something...in that ep.
The highlight of the episode was their conversation in the kitchen after the Campbells left the house -- and Michelle, Cat and I were making up our own dialogue for the subtext. xD
The episode just didn't feel quite right. Dean seemed like the only guy who was "normal", or as close to it as you get... I mean, from him, you get the snark ("See, it's almost like I'm a professional"), you get the let's-do-it (when he went next door to help the neighbours) and his changes do seem a bit appropriate if it's been a year.
I have my doubts about the Campbells, for sure. I don't necessarily think they are who they say they are: They may be hunters, they may be Campbells, but there's something that's just off about them

I'm saving major judgement of the whole thing until I get more facts and info on that ep, on Sammy and on Dean and...well, until I get more into season six I guess.
But yeah, I didn't get too excited for this ep. Where IS the fix it fic??
Yeah, I'm definitely trying to hold off until further into the season. It's hard, though, 'cause once a thought gets in my head I have to keep running it through until something comes out of it -- and putting that response on hold does not come easily to me, lol.
I still haven't found fix-it fic -- but, then again, I haven't really been looking, I've been working. Hahaha.
Cold/emotionless!Sam after Hell was kind of heartbreaking. I don't know whats going on with him and his hunter 'family' but I don't trust the other Campbells, it all smells fishy to me.
I actually approve of having more monster of the week episodes. Not too many, of course, but a bit of a break after such a heavy apocalypse plotline would be nice. But that depends on the quality of those eps, there have been some great MotW eps, and some weaker ones.
I´m intrigued to see how they're going to mend Dean and Sams relationship, and finding out why Sam is back.
tl;dr, I actually mostly liked the ep, but I totally get all the wtfs about it.

I dunno, I think you're right. A year seems too much, too long. That Sam wouldn't have contacted Dean, in an ENTIRE year, is just nuts too.

I admit to loving some MotW eps, but as far as that goes, I thought the premiere didn't hold a candle to those better ones.
I am hoping for less WTF this week. *Fingers crossed*
