I'm a big Dan Savage fan and listen to his podcast every week, so I remember his call for these It Gets Better videos a few weeks back, but how fantastic is it to see it going so far as a politician in Texas being willing to tell his story publicly in City Council... very brave, and very nearly made me cry.

(On a less reverent note, fuck, didn't he just have the most adorable, Brokeback-themed engagement ever? A slash-happy fic writer couldn't have done it better. *g*)

I had tears in my eyes watching it. I actually sent him a thank you email I was so moved.

And I know! I wanted to give both him and his hubby a hug and tell them how sweet theyare. I don't know many het couples who have such a romantic engagement.
