I dunno. I didn't love it, for sure. I did think it had realism, in parts, that you just don't find in most relationship movies. It was well done by both Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, but it's not a movie I ever really want to watch again ( Read more... )

thank you --- I won't be asking to go see this one on date with hubby next weekend. We don't get enough dates to see see crappy movies

My friend Jim recommended this to me yesterday, but it really sounds like a big downer and something I'd waste the money on in the theater.

idk, this was a really hard movie for me to watch. it was just so depressing, and it broke my heart about a hundred times. in some ways i can understand both of them? because people fall out of love with each other all the time, as sad as the case may be. idk if i'd agree that she encouraged and enabled him, but i also wouldn't say she really went out of her way to stop him. in a lot of ways they both forced themselves on each other -- he with the love hotel she didn't want to go to, which wasn't fair to her because she obviously didn't want to go, and she with the whole "come on, hit me" thing, which also made me uncomfortable.

idk. it was a weird movie. it hurt to watch. the acting was fantastic, but i definitely don't think i could watch it again.
