This is so very true, though I still don't understand why. I have exactly the opposite reaction with people. If they're honest, I love them instantly, even if I disagree with them about a lot of things. If they're dishonest, I hate them instantly, even if I agree with them about a lot of things.

Everybody lies, sure. I guess I am calling people "honest" if they generally represent their beliefs honestly, and I am calling people "dishonest" if they generally misrepresent their beliefs dishonestly. That way the honest people are known quantities (low volatility) and the dishonest people are unknown quantities (high volatility).
