Shou squeezed his eyes shut tighter, not wanting to leave the wonderful warmth he was feeling. The feeling of being awake in the morning, warm and cozy in your bed and not getting out.
But there was a crack in the curtain that was, of course, shining sunlight right in his face.He let out a soft groan and covered his eyes with his forearm. Why must the weather decide to brighten up when I'm not out in the street...He wondered.
He could hear a soft clatter in the kitchen.Hiroto-kun..is he starting breakfast? Shou wondered, opening his eyes and leaning up on his elbows.
He looked at the clock, it read 5:57 a.m..It was the second morning he had woken up in a bed, Hiroto's bed to be exact. In Hiroto's shirt too.If Shou was naturally dirty minded, he would've made a joke to himself about it.
He slid his legs out of bed, slipped into his new slippers that Hiroto had given him and slowly made his way to the kitchen.Hiroto was indeed making breakfast, but not like the other mornings.
This morning, it was frozen food being heated up.Frozen waffles and...what was that?Strawberries?
The smaller boy turned and grinned as Shou entered the kitchen.."Good morning, Shou-kun!How did you sleep?" He sounded almost like a mother, or maybe a wife.Shou sat down in a chair and brushed a few stray hairs out of his face.
"Good..You have a very soft bed." The younger boy sat down at the table with two plates of (now) hot waffles with strawberries and whipped cream ontop.
Shou lowered his eyes and smiled."Thank you so much."
Hiroto stuck a huge bite of waffle in his mouth and managed a muffled "I'm happy to do it." The younger boy watched the stray pick up his fork and slowly insert a cream covered strawberry into his mouth. The older ones face lit up and started wolfing down his food.
"I haven't had waffles in so long!" He said, reaching for a glass of milk.
"I'm happy you like them!" Hiroto responded cheerfully.Shou fidgeted slightly in the small silence that followed.
"So, what are you doing today?" He asked after a moment.Hiroto looked thoughtful as he chewed his bite of waffle, look off into space.
"Well..." He swallowed, "Nao, Saga, Tora and I usually wander around town and look for things to do on Saturdays..."
Shou blinked. It was Saturday? He'd lost track of the days.Hiroto's eyes focused again and looked at Shou.
"But, I can stay here with you if you like." The younger boy smiled and Shou felt his cheeks blush slightly. Why?He wondered."You don't have to do that.." The older boy looked at his feet.
"Go have fun with your friends." Shou didn't expect to feel so uncomfortable with someone doing things for him.
"OH!" Hiroto exclaimed, making Shou jump.
"I'm so stupid!" He smacked his hand over his face and chuckled."Why don't you come with us?You'd like my friends!" Shou stared at the boy.
Meet his friends? He'd only just met him.The idea of new people scared him a little.Shou felt his will to say no weaken as he stared at the smiling boy.Hes so..cute..Shou thought. He didn't want to deny Hiroto anything.
Shou nodded and gave Hiroto a small smile.
"Sure...I'd like that." He told him.Shou almost laughed as Hiroto's smile got bigger. He looked like a squirrel, Shou thought.Hiroto looked at the clock, which now read 6:40.
"We should get dressed then, Nao likes to start early in the day so he has an excuse to get coffee...Even though he drinks it all day." Shou looked down at himself, he'd forgotten he was only in his pajama's.
The two boys got up and Shou followed Hiroto back into the bedroom. The smaller boy pulled some clothes out of the dresser and walked out of the room.
"I'll change in the living room." He called back.Shou picked up a pair of his old jeans, which his host had so kindly washed the night before, along with the rest of his clothes.
Shou shivered slightly as he stripped down to his underwear, quickly slipping into his jeans. He opened a dresser drawer and pulled out a plain black t-shirt and pulled it on.Hiroto had told him he could borrow anything that fit, and Shou found he could fit into most of his shirts.Shou, although tall, was also naturally..petite.And sometimes, that was not good.
Shou walked out of the room, to see if the younger boy was ready and froze slightly when he entered the living room.
Hiroto was standing in the middle of the room, unaware of Shou as he looked at the TV.Whatever was on TV had apparently caught his attention before he could get fully dressed, his jeans were on, but unzipped and his shirt hung loosely in the crook of his elbow.
Shou found himself examining Hiroto's upperbody. When he realized what he was doing, he looked away and cleared his throat.
Hiroto turned slightly."Hey." He turned back to the TV, zipping up his pants in the process.Shou fidgeted in his spot again, Hiroto completely unaware that Shou felt nervous about the other boy being half naked infront of him.
Hiroto pulled on a long-sleeved shirt and turned back around to face Shou, who was staring absently at him.
"...What is it?" Hiroto asked.Shou jumped a little, not having realized he had started to stare again."N-nothing." He stuttered.Hiroto shrugged."So, c'mon.Get your coat and lets go!" The smaller boy told him.
It only took the two young men a few minutes to reach a main street, packed with a weekend crowd.Shou unconciously moved closer to Hiroto, holding into his wrist.Crowds made him very nervous. The younger boy didn't mind one bit as he guided Shou through the street to a small, familiar cafe where he and his friends met every weekend.
The bell over the door rang softly as they entered. The place, despite its location, rarely had more than 15 people in it at a time, including the employee's.Hiroto's feet led them to a booth infront of a window that looked out at the street. It was they're usually spot.
Tora had even one written they're names on it secretly, they're butts had even started to leave impressions on the seat.
Nao smiled at the two."Good morning!" He sipped what was probably his fourth cup of coffee, Hiroto guessed."Good morning, thanks." Hiroto greeted the older boy, sliding in next to him.Tora and Saga were sitting on the opposite side, talking quietly between themselves and looking at a book.
"What does Leader-Pooh have planned for us today?" Hiroto grinned as Nao fake pouted at the somewhat ridiculous nickname they'd given him.
"I thought we'd go shopping! My parents gave me spending money today." Nao said, excitedly."Cool!...Can we go by the comic store!?" Hiroto asked, getting equally excited."We went last weekend."
Hiroto pouted at the response."But..its time for the next comic to be out..I got my last one late." Luckily, Nao could easily be swayed on this type of thing and nodded."Sure, we'll go." Hiroto jumped slightly in his seat and clapped happily."YAY!"
The whole time, Shou had awkwardly been standing next to the both, listening.Hiroto turned his head back to him quickly, he'd almost forgotten Shou was there."Come on, sit down!" The small boy turned back to Nao and forcefully pushed on the side of his leg, making him slide around the large booth.
"HEY, WHA-" Nao yelled and flailed his arms at the sudden movement, accidently hitting Tora in the face."HEY!" The dark haired boy rubbed his nose, which was turning red.The look on Shou's face was both confused and scared."I'm sorry!" He apologized, somehow feeling the few seconds of chaos was his fault.
"Fuck, that hurt.Am I bleeding?" Tora asked Saga."Move your hands and I'll tell you." Was his boyfriends response.
Hiroto tugged on Shou's hand and looked up at him."Sit." He said simply.
Shou did as the cute face infront of him commanded. He had seen a slight change in Hiroto's behavior around his friends. He was a little more immature?Relaxed?Shou didn't know the right word.
On the other side of the booth, Saga was holding Tora's wrists to keep his hands off his face."Your nose is fine.If anything, you'd probably hurt it more if you keep touching it." The brunette told the ravenhaired boy.
"You know, for as thin as you are, your surprisingly strong." Tora wingled his wrists in Saga's grip. The slender boy got a relatively terrifying grin on his face."You know you like it."
Shou's eyes widened and he coughed nervously. The couple looked over at him and Saga released the taller boys wrists."I think I made our new friend nervous." Saga gave Shou an apologetic look."I'm sorry." Shou stared at the table infront oh him and mumbled something.
Saga looked at Hiroto."Hes kind of quiet at first." The boy explained."So its decided, we're going to the shopping center." Nao sucked down the last few drops of his coffee, the couple nodded.
Shou looked more uncomfortable and looked at Hiroto out of the side of his eye.The small boy caught the look and leaned closer to Shou.
"..I..don't have any money...at all.." Shou whispered, sounding embaressed. The small boy had forgotten Shou's situation in the few stupidly happy moments he'd been with his friends."I'll pay for anything you see that you might want." Hiroto whispered back.Shou looked disbelievingly at Hiroto.
"Is something wrong?" Nao asked.Hiroto thought for a second on weather or not he should tell him."Shou-kun..has no money." There was silence around the table, Shou fidgeted more.
He didn't want to feel like a charity case."Its alright.I just won't get anything.." He said quietly."I'll just look, I don't mind.."
"No no no!!I want you to have new things, especially clothes! You need them, I'll buy them for you!" Hiroto insisted."I think we could all afford to pitch in a little for new clothes for Shou-kun." Nao said, looking at Tora and Saga, both nodded.
"There, you see?" Hiroto smiled."You deserve nice things."
Shou gave the younger boy a small smile and mentally disagreed.I deserve nothing, he thought.
"Kaaaaaaaaai-chan...!" Nao called from the table.A dark haired waiter shortly appeared at the table."Yes?" He struggled to keep the stack of trays in his hands balanced."Can I have more coffee?" Nao pulled a cute face at the other man.The waiter, Kai sighed.
"Okay, but its the last cup.Otherwise, I'll be screwed on our date tonight." Nao laughed."Okay!Thank you!" Kai hurried off to the kitchen.
"I can just get more at the shopping center." Nao tried to look as innocent as possible.
Poor Kai, the other four boys thought in unison.
Ah, shopping. Its a wonderful way to spend your time and have fun with your friends.Has our sweet little stray found some new playmates?Wonder what kind of toys he might get..Maybe they'll surprise him..
