Notes/Warnings: As soon as I read that prompt #157 was Phobia - "He never would have admitted it..." started running through my head and I jotted down all five drabble ideas before going to work this morning. I hope I haven't abused the prompt by giving each set of characters a chance to explain their fears.
Disclaimer: If you recognize it, regrettably - it's not mine.

#1: He never would have admitted it... but his greatest fear was needles. This phobia had been with him since childhood and even the torture regimen of the Army couldn't take it from him. Another piercing through his skin but he refused to flinch. Fear would be his greatest enemy even as he stared into the cold, unfeeling eyes of the son of a bitch holding him captive. He would keep his secrets... as Lancer would keep his promise. A third needle entered his chest. There was excruciating pain before the world went black... he found he didn't mind so much.

#2: He never would have admitted it... but his greatest fear was closed spaces. Yet, he'd willingly traded his life for another and now found himself facing his inner demon. The walls of the elevator seemed to be closing in on him but he kept his focus on the man with the gun. This man was tired… tired of being watched. David understood. Granger had spied on him for two years. He'd been forgiven, but David still hated being watched. In Ben, he'd found an ally… and as another hour passed inside the space, he found he didn't mind so much.

#3: He never would have admitted it... but his greatest fear was an idle mind. The numbers were his constant companion - ever present in his head, running through like the stock exchange though never that organized. Yet, the numbers could terrify him when they became too much… more so when the numbers were not enough or when the numbers stopped. He looked up then to see her walking toward him - smiling at him in just his t-shirt. Her hands touched his before she kissed him and every thing went silent. The numbers stopped… he found he didn't mind so much.

#4: He never would have admitted it... but his greatest fear was having no more questions about the universe. Who was he if not an explorer of the cosmos? He wondered as a long silky leg wrapped about him underneath the sheets of his bed. He turned to see her brilliant smile - a smile that was only his. All else was forgotten as his fingers wound in her hair. She whispered his name and the world made sense. There was only the universe in her eyes to explore and nothing left to question. He found he didn't mind so much.

#5: He never would have admitted it... but his greatest fear was being alone. Yet, he used to be the one who ran away from commitment. He’d made an effort with her… with the woman before her. Liz was gone and now she was walking away... just like she did the last time. She cast him a glance over her shoulder and he felt the chill in the air. He’d heard her called The Ice Princess but until now he’d never understood. Her walk was focused and she was leaving him again… this time, he found he didn’t mind so much.
