She didn't seem like that girl either. Beautiful and different. She made him laugh. She had a brain. Even under the influence, she spoke eloquently of science and poetry.
Her voice was liquid warmth, just as the drink had been. There was comfort there. Familiarity in a stranger… a connection he'd missed for two years.
Should he stay and face what he'd done? Should he go and leave it for what it was?
