::laugh:: We once had one of those in our summer cabin. We spent a half hour saying "what was that!" to each other as one person would see it and no one else would... It wasn't surreal so much as just whacky.

We had several bats in my house back in nova... one was beat to death by a bunch of crazy guys who didn't know what to do. The other I remember vividly I noticed while he was taking a nap on the time hands of our family cukoo clock (my father's head was merely inches away from it, as he was trying to find out whether it had gone *behind* the clock). That one was taken away by some animal safety agency.

Good job on getting it out safely and without incident!!

Catching a bat with a butterfly net is *much* more effective than shooing it around with a towel. Plus, I got to see it up close; it made the wildest, electronic-static sounding noise once I caught it, which probably translated to someting like "Oh fuck! Get the fuck off me or I'll sink my sharp rabies-laden teeth into your thumb!". But it sounded really cool ( ... )
