i don't wanna stay young

Yes I was at that game last night, and it was honestly one of the single most painful baseball experiences of my whole life. They score three in the ninth to pad the lead, we score four in the bottom half to tie it up, obviously magic team will win another game in magic fashion and then: Buster. Since I fell in love with this pairing via your last fic, I thought I would give this one a chance as well. Your writing can put a person right in a moment with such vivid clarity, it is transforming.

you could recognize him in dark rooms. He was an idiot if he couldn't see the significance of that.

That is such an amazing line. And your last line is absolutely perfect.

I had to go watch the video of this online - the look on his face was heartbreaking, he looked like he could barely breath from the pain. I don't know how you managed to see this happen in person, sweetie - your heart must have been in your throat. My heart for you and your Giants, babe.

yeah, bumgarner/posey! i am listening to the game right now, and madison just hit a lead-off double! visualize my totally dorky happy dance.

it was a violent wrench, guts ripped out and such, but i've noticed that none of the bad news/bad performances this year hurt quite as bad as they usually do. when things are going poorly, i just think about the million people who showed up for the parade, and the rings on their fingers.

So gut-churning. I was watching the game on TV, just awful, tears, couldn't sleep, etc. It's the worst thing when you wish you could have just not had your team score 4 runs in the ninth. This is why we can't have nice things. :(

Poor Madison. Poor Buster. I can't look at the photos or the videos again. I just hope it's a wakeup call for everyone else on the team.

From the Extra Baggs blog a few days ago:
"Buster Posey’s jersey, turned with his name and number facing outward, hangs in an empty locker stall in the Giants clubhouse, between the spaces where Tim Lincecum and Sergio Romo dress.

“He’s with us in spirit,” Lincecum said."

:(

Your fic captures our grief well.

oh my god, now i have to write the saddest story i ever wrote about anything, centering around the image of Buster's jersey hanging in an empty locker. it will be like the last scene of 'brokeback mountain' except ANGST TIMES TWO.

meanwhile, thank you very much for reading, though i know it is a painful thing.

My God, how am I just now reading this? Beautiful and painful at the same time. It works on so many levels. I can't say much more, because the story spoke so well for itself. Thank you.
