Interesting thoughts! Buffy's real-life scene with Angel in 8.33 does seem to slot straight into her fantasy/dream narrative, except that Spike is conspicuous by his absence. So far at least... But a fantasy isn't always a good template to follow in real life...

Your post inspired me to re-read 'Always Darkest' myself - it's in the latest TPB, which I just bought - and I'm about to post my own thoughts on it in my LJ.

Thank you. Seems like the dreams always provide a very rich ground for foreshadowing in Btvs. Perhaps we could develop a method for reading Whedon: go first to the dreams. :-)

That being said, the puzzle begins to really take its form. I'm pretty sure that many of the things that didn't make sense till now will take their place in the story neatly.

Glad to have been useful.

You've inspired me also! I really, really, like your read on the romantic imagery.

Yay , meta goodness. \o/ I should do that more often...

"I really, really, like your read on the romantic imagery." I'm an old cynic. :-) More seriously, I don't believe in such coincidences. It's done deliberately.

Don't be sorry. It's always a pleasure to see that what you've written has been thoughts inducing for other persons. And I always love to read your thoughts.
But you'll have to excuse for not answering tonight, because I want to get to bed. I have to wake up early tomorrow (back to work!)
