DIPTYCH, part II-1

This is the first part of the second panel of a G/S story, focusing on sixth moments of their relationship. I tried to give the whole story a pictural quality.  This part can be read as a standalone, but if you want, you can have a look at part I-1 and part I-2  and part I-3 of Diptych too, to have a whole survey of the first panel of the story and ( Read more... )

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad this story worked for you. As for the paragraph you quote, Juliet Landau's unusual beauty always stroke me. I tried to translate this feeling through Spike's eyes of course.

You paint a beautiful picture with your words. I'm not sure I know how to explain this but I felt like it had this dark, almost dreamlike quality to it that I enjoyed. I know, dreamlike might sound weird considering how acutely aware of everything Giles is here, but the image it created in my head is almost hallucinatory. *cough* I should stop talking now.

Thank you for writing this!

Thank you for your nice comment. I'm glad Summer_of_Giles gave me the occasion to share this story with other people. There's definitively a dreamlike quality to it and an awareness. It's a strange state of mind, but when you're not rushed, when you let your mind wander, you're often conscious of very little things your woudn't pay attention to otherwise.

Really vivid and engaging. I liked the way the jasmine went from something beautiful to something distasteful. I could really picture the two of them in my head, full of confusion and cross purposes.

With such divergent POV, confusion and cross purposes are inescapable and what renders their relationship difficult. But I like to think that in spite of this, the would be able to share real little moments, if only fleeting and that something could be build on that. Thank you for this insightful comment.
