DOUBLES IN BTVS

I haven't done much in term of BTVS study lately nor have I been much on LJ either, but here's a piece of meta that has been on my mind for quite some time. Hopefully, you'll find some interest in it.

That was very interesting. I hadn't really thought of what you describe in the terms you describe it, but it's obvious now I've read it.

Of course, I did know that Angelus was Angel's 'dark' half, and Faith Buffy's. But the rest I hadn't even considered.

I hadn't thought about it either until after having remarked that at least three characters had obvious doubles, I began to look for others and there they were. Local_Max found even more and makes excellent remarks about Willow/Warren and Anya/Halfrek. These games really contribute to enrich the verse.

Good post! It's worth noting that many other characters have external-character doubles as well, just as Buffy does with Faith and Dawn and Spike ( ... )

Your observations about Willow/Warren and Anya/Halfrek are excellent.

The writers in Btvs played with various meanings of doubles: with exterior characters the doubles are nearer to mirror images. I'm pretty sure there would be enough matter for a litterary study there.

Thank you for commenting.
