So. Finals are over, and my grades are in. Somehow I was able to pull off A's in all my classes. Clearly, I rule at life.
May is so far shaping up to be the best month of EVER for me. My laptop (that I've been struggling with for three years) finally died a couple weeks ago, so my parents bought me a new one. Well, we split the cost. Because while I sometimes fancy myself a spoiled rich girl, I'm not quite qualified. Anyway, they're going to patch up my old laptop and use it to watch the ungodly amounts of television I've downloaded this year. (My dad is now a Numb3rs and a House fan. I am endlessly amused.)
And I would just like to randomly point out that the past few episodes of House have absolutely rocked my socks. Like, make-me-flail good.
So...my new laptop is a Gateway. It's all pretty and widescreen and light. And I didn't know about this at the time of purchase, but the light on it turns pink when it's charging. Pink! Just for me! :D
Let's see. Oh, my parents also bought me an mp3 player as a reward for not being an idiot (i.e. good grades). It's a SanDisk, and it holds 2 gigs, which is twice as much as my old one. And it has a shuffle feature! Yes, I am excited by shuffling. Leave me alone. By the by, my old player? Works less reliably ever since it was covered in melted chocolate. Don't ask.
Anyway. That potential trip to Italy that I mentioned before? Is less potential. In fact, I leave in less than a week. As of right now, I'm about halfway between being uberly excited and completely panicked.
Anyone on my flist ever gone overseas? If so, give me advice! I'll only be there a month, so it's not as dire as it could be. But I don't know Italian! I know Japanese! What is an American girl who semi-speaks Japanese supposed to do in Italy?!
Oh! And one last thing before I scamper off to finish my Italy paper. My brother (Drew, for anyone who might know him) just called me to tell that he and his girlfriend are getting married! Eeee! They're shooting for next June, and I'm ridiculously happy about it. His girlfriend is quite possibly the sweetest person I've ever met. So, yeah. I am deeming this a Very Good Thing.
