Given your circumstances i am surprised that things are not worse. For one i notice when i am in a job for too long, i tend to identify myself as that job... and forget about all the other parts of me. I can't imagine what it would be like working 80 hours a week... twice as long as a normal (sane)job.
It is not surpriseing that anyone's relationship would have problems given such circumstances. Just wondering though.. are there things you can do to stay in touch? Do you call each other during the day.. maybe send a couple emails back and forth? What about weekends?
Sounds like your employers are trying to kill you, if not physically then emotionally.. I just hope you are being paid well enough to make it all worth while.
Its no wonder you feel like nothing special if your whole life is working a single job. It is what is outside the job that makes us special. You are still who you are.. the person that Amber chose to marry, though perhaps that does not seem very real to you at the moment.
I have trouble working 25 hours a week.. because it takes me away from my family, my home, and all the things I love to do. Yes.. the money helps.. but it's not worth my sanity. I was offered 6 days a week, overtime.. and benefits.
It's just not worth it. I'll keep to my measley three days a week.. and be happy. Simplification can never be overrated.. if you can afford it.
Hubby and I are getting into something new though.. we will probably be in Ohio next week, writing insurance claims together.. Something I can never over-emphasize is doing things with your partner.
