By now I'm sure you've noticed the Jolly Roger flying proudly in my userpic box. Let me take a moment to explain that.

Why thank you! I'm glad you think so.

And you fight the power in whatever way you see fit. Myself, I'm very attatched to my punctuation.

You have, in fact, given definition to my pirate crew. Greed dishonour and lack of showers? PFFT. Sailing for adventure.

It's true! I'm pondering mine. Feathers don't quite fit, I think.

It took me forever to finally reach a desicion about mine, but once I settled on feathers the rest just kind of fell together.

The greed, violence, theft, dishonor, and poor hygiene are the very things that make a pirate a pirate. without those things they are no longer a pirate, just an adventurer or a fortune seeker. so you can't have a pirate that is sweet just because he/she is stripped of those things, that also strips them of their title of pirate.

Duh,

But such adventurers would be grouped with the more "proper" pirates because they would travel in the same circles and be familiar with one another. Society would simply know them as the "good" pirates.

In fact... ninja were, historically, considered to be characteristacally cold-blooded killers. But as the term "ninja" as we know it includes not only these villains but also heroes. What makes a ninja a ninja is the skill he posesses. The way I see it, it's the same with a pirate.
