Character Information

General
Canon Source: Left 4 Dead 2
Canon Format: video game
Character's Name: Nick
Character's Age: 35
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. n/a.

What form will your character's NV take? A touch screen-enabled phone, something like a Blackberry.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Presumably good at conning people out of their money and a damn good shot, but nothing supernatural. Just a normal human!
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? Gold mimicry which is the ability to turn one's body into gold. It would provide a shield against attack if he ever ran into the monsters, but it wouldn't be without its downsides. There would be plenty of fatigue afterwards from the strain of carrying around such a heavy body though while changed, he might not notice any loss of flexibility or movement.
Weapons: Combat shotgun, magnum pistol, and a frying pan.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: The life of a drifter, that was Nick's life before the apocalypse. You can't stay in one place too long when you're in his line of work after all. He's a gambler and a con-man with a few run-ins with the law and because of this, Nick has learned to rely on himself and doesn't trust others very easily at all. He went down to Savannah with the intention of conning some backwater hicks out of their money, but found it overrun with an infection that turns people into zombies. Fighting his way through the infected, he met up with three other survivors on top of a burning hotel only to watch the last evacuation helicopter leave without them and with no intention of turning around and coming back.

Without any other choice but to find salvation elsewhere, Nick was in a tough spot. He was stuck with three other people he didn't know if he could trust. He wanted to leave and go it alone like always but that wasn't possible with so many Infected on his ass. It was difficult enough to take down a Tank with four people, he didn't want to imagine taking it on alone. So with his choice pretty much made for him, Nick ended up sticking around with the other three, slowly learning to appreciate them.

They made their way to a mall but found it abandoned by anyone still healthy. Luckily, there was a stock car on display there for a car show and plenty of gas to fill her up. They decided to risk it and drive to New Orleans. That was the original plan anyway. They hadn't counted on miles of abandoned cars to pass over and zombies that made it impossible to maneuver a car through. They made it through the cars and a motel on foot and found their way to a carnival, Whispering Oaks. There had been a band scheduled to play before everything was overrun and, after spotting a helicopter, they decided to fight their way to the building it was originally scheduled to take place in. They figured if they started up the lights, the pyrotechnics, and the music, it would catch the chopper's attention. It ended up working! They were rescued, but...

Lady Luck just was not on their side at all. The pilot had been infected somehow and without much of a choice again, Nick had to shoot him and just let them crash. Fortunately, they all survived somehow, but unfortunately, they had to make their way through a swamp. They did locate a radio eventually and contacted a man named Virgil to come and pick them up. Virgil had been helping save survivors by picking them up in his fishing boat.

If Nick had learned one thing though, nothing is ever so easy. The boat ran out of fuel so Virgil dropped them off in Mississippi to collect more gas so they could finish their journey. There was a heavy storm passing over though, so they had to deal with that and zombies. They did manage to get the gas though and used a fast food sign to signal Virgil back--since they'd forgotten to grab the flares when they got off the boat.

After that, they were taken to New Orleans and dropped off so Virgil could go back and help out any other remaining survivors. They just had to make it through the city while being bombed and over a bridge full of infected to catch the last chopper out and into the safety of the military. At that point? That probably seemed like a walk in the park.
Point in Canon: During the finale of the last campaign, right after the fight over the bridge to get to the last helicopter.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: n/a.Character Personality: Nick is cynical, a pessimist, sarcastic, blunt, and well, it's probably just easier to call him an asshole. He doesn't play nice with others, especially if they get on his nerves. He's used to going it alone and he doesn't trust just anybody. He just doesn't have a choice this time considering he can't fight off hordes of zombies on his own.

He pokes fun of Ellis constantly, making fun of his accent and where he comes from, but he isn't above showing a little appreciation on occasion. During Dark Carnival, when Ellis apologizes for not being able to drive their stock car over miles of cars, he does tell him not to sweat it. Sometimes when Ellis dies in game, he'll even say, "Y'know all those things I said about you, Ellis? I was joking..."

He teases Coach the same way, usually poking fun of his weight. He can definitely stand Coach far more than Ellis though. Sometimes when he dies, he'll even say, "You were a hell of a man, Coach."

Rochelle is the only one he seems to act softer towards, not screaming at her unless she shoots him. He can even act somewhat flirtatious towards her, that ladies man side of him coming out. He definitely has an appreciation for women or at least, the female form.

He's also highly materialistic. His biggest concern in the zombie apocalypse? The bastards messing up his three thousand dollar suit. After all, he mentions knowing how to get brains out of a suit, but not swamp water or Spitter goo. He won't elaborate on why or how he knows this though and that's probably for the best. You can bet he's had run-ins with the law though and mentions to the others that he hopes they don't mind that he isn't legally allowed to own a gun in the US.

Despite all that though, he does seem to warm up to the others and will look after them, even go as far as to share his medkits when they need it. He just isn't the type that will open up easily.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: n/a
Character Plans: Find a bar. Seriously though, he'll want to get back to his normal routine--gambling, conning people out of their money, buying fancy suits, picking up some ladies, whatever. He'll want to try to avoid the monsters, but I doubt that will always be possible.
