Wishful thinking... probably.
There should be an extra screen after you confess that says "are you sure you want to write this? Did you really think about it, because I think you didn't."
I beleive that it's connected to Tom Ridge's site. Or maybe it just gets downloaded straight to the CIA.

Only about a 3rd of them seem to be actual confessions and the rest are just folks trying to freak people out, I think. But I have to see, anyway.

It reminds me of an episode of Amazing Stories, where everyone is turning into zombies. And the way they change everyone is by whispering into their ear. Luckily I usually only check this stuff out at work :)
