I haven't been at an internetable computer in a while, but I had to share this with you. I have certain family members who are
republicans. These
republicans somehow got me included on a
republicans e-mail list. And this is what I received:
"Dear candygraez,
Earlier this week, HBO premiered a new documentary entitled Nine Innings from Ground Zero. The documentary tells the story of the 2001 Yankees and the hope and optimism their run in the World Series brought back to the people of America following September 11th. Through interviews with players, fans, families, and even the President, the film recalls a difficult time that we came through together.
One segment of that documentary shows President George W. Bush throwing out the first pitch in Game Three. We would like to share a clip with you:

If you would like to see the rest of this powerful film, it will air again on the following dates, times, and channels:
blah blah blah
It is important to remember the times we have been through together. This film, in many ways, serves as a reminder of our shared experience. I recommend it highly.

So you understand what this means...
Republicans = New York Yankees
It all makes sense now. I feel as though I just received those sunglasses from John Carpenters They Live and the truth has been revealed to me.
Mary and I just got back from John DeFelice's wedding in Ohio and it was amazing. It was in a art museum in Dayton. A Nam Jun Paek TV stack was the first thing you saw as you entered. But earlier we stayed with my friend Karma and her fiance Scott in Columbus. They had a very cool house, but we went to a Arts Festival in thier town and it was like walking into the Music Man. Brick buildings, clean streets and 0 black people. Zero. I passed by a store that was selling Bush and Kerry shirts and had a sign displaying how many of each was bought. Bush was beating Kerry 13 to 6.
Please Ohio, don't let the Yankees win. No one likes the Yankees. No one.
I got us home from Columbus in 7 and a half hours. It took us 9 to get out there. I don't think I spent 30 minutes in Pennsylvania going under 80 mph.
Much music listening... but fear 'Renaldo & the Loaf'. That's all I can say. Fear them.
