Well after moving from my mom's in December, I've been living in tlachtga's apartment working, noodling on the guitar and playing Everquest 2. At work I've been talking to a guy who is obsessed with the Beatles, Star Trek, Hall & Oates, and Duran Duran. In fact it seems as though he can only be obsessed about things. Sad to say that the Beatles is the one obsession of those that I know the least about.
I've been watching "M", the Star Wars Trilogy, Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic, "The Wicker Man", traffic outside my car, dishes getting washed, my sweetie and her new coat which always looks warm, fellow employees with a casting director's eye, "Lost" and the Philly skyline, which is being adorned with a new building and plenty of green light in honor of our Iggles making it to the Super Bowl. I'm still Dennis, though I've been not very talky recently. I have a plant at work named "Clavdivs" (after "I Claudius") and he and I pretty much go through the day the same way.
We got a new apartment, it's awesome!(I know I usually avoid exclamation points, but this apartment earned it) It has bookcases built into the wall! It has lots of windows! It's old! It has a fireplace in the bedroom! No heart shaped bed, though. While waiting for the call from our realtor for our credit check I was really nervous, so I bought CDs (Rushmore and The Life Aquatic soundtracks... wonderful wonderful). Then after work I was driving home talking to myself and God or whoever, having the usual spiritual crisis, asking for some sort of sign- when 2 deer jump in front of my car. I hit the brakes avoiding them but then a 3rd slammed into the front corner. I pulled over. Bluey (my car) was dented and had some fur on him, but was pretty ok. The deer had run off... I don't know how bad he got it. I called mom and told her about the day when Amanda, our realtor, called. It was like 5 minutes after the deer. She had to talk to Mary, but said that we basically got the place. I kept wondering if the sign I got was an explanantion of how things work in the world, that something has to get hurt in order for good things to happen. Maybe that's what people see in George Bush, he really is making the world a better place. I dunno. Sorry I've been away for a while, after the move I've been kind of out of it. Hopefully I'll snap back to life soon. Mary and I signed the lease today... we're currently missing Low. Their new album is alright but they don't sound very Low-y. And certainly not very quiet.
