The Wrong Dragon was fun to write. I had thought I had no more words in me, but while writing this, I opened a brand-new box of them, and I feel more confident that it's not over yet.
I owe many thanks to the people who helped me get this fic ready for posting. My thanks go to the following people.
enteselene is the one who threatened and cajoled me into actually writing the story. I was convinced that I was completely written out, and was going to give this year a miss, but with her help, all of a sudden it became a fic.
jdl71 stepped in to alpha read. She went over and beyond, spotting mistakes and pointing out all my errors and just generally making it a much better story than it had been. I have tampered with it a lot since then, so I apologize for any further errors. They're all mine.
spoonlessone went over it with a fine toothcomb, and if I've made any further errors, it's all my own fault, and I will need to be taken out back and beaten.
midnightsilvers, who claimed the story and produced the illustrations that make my heart skip a beat each time I look at them, because they are so gorgeous. I'm looking to hang that cover on my wall. I owe huge thanks to MidnightSilver, (aka the GreenestGreenthateverGreened!) and for the opportunity to collaborate with them.
I have much love for
wendy, who every year sets this challenge in motion and co-ordinates it for those of us hardy souls that subject ourselves to it. She's always calm, always helpful and quick to respond to problems. She's altogether a good egg. We should all be grateful for her continuing work to provide us with the challenge and shower us with all the fic. Thanks, Wendy.

I first read "Dragonflight" by Ann McCaffrey back in 1969, and it completely blew me away. Through the next few years more stories about PERN, (Parallel Earth, Resources Negligible.) and now there are more than 20 of them. It's a wonderful universe and so rich that I don't think it will ever be exhausted.
For more information about the fictional universe, I spent a lot of time on The Pern Wiki. You can find it
here. No thanks to LJ, who changed all the posting settings without posting adequate instructions on how to provide links and HTML tags. It took me all day to work out what to do in order to make the story work, and it was due to the ever meticulous and helpful
aomasade that I was finally able to succeed. She deserves my grateful thanks.
