our field cordinator... who also happens to be our "seminar" "teacher" is the most disrespectful teacher I have ever run into. She rolls her eyes at us, tells us we are wrong with our ideas, brags about being a gifted teacher (in a tiny ass district that couldnt even afford to have more than her), yells at us and is in general just a mean person... so naturally we lost all respect for her from the start... and so she TOLD ON US and we got a lecture from her boss... the whole time she was giving us dirty looks and rolling her eyes at us and doing the "in your face" look
I want to punch her, it's people like her that make us look bad
she also thought that a classroom is not diverse unless it has children who aren't white in it... we reamed her on that one
It's bad teachers that make kids hate school. Kids shouldn't hate school. School should be a safe place for kids to go and be kids. To learn and be encouraged to try and fail, and try again.
Even when we're college students. Because God forbid we actually think for ourselves and maybe, are wrong sometimes!
hey sean pointed me in the direction of your journal. I just made a similar post, about my frustrations with teachers. etc.
I totally agree with you. I observe at an elementary school, and it's upsetting. the teachers expect these kids to come to school excited about learning. all they do is worksheet after worksheet and are constantly being drilled about doing well on the MAP tests. it makes me soooooo mad.
well, I just wanted to let you know...you are not alone. ;)
